Pandd,

Is there any part of you that thinks maybe, possibly, you just came on too strong? Is there any chance that you were looking for a confrontation?

I just discovered that pandd is a she, not a he. Lovely. I was roped into fighting with another woman. My day is just getting better and better.

Anemone, pandd's giant issue is that I said matriarchies are egalitarian societies. He's completely pedantic in his criticism, and is hung up on what his dictionary says. I'm guessing that what he was actually reacting to was all of my other posts, which had some pretty blunt things to say about pat...

All pandd wants to do is cause tension. It's obvious. Like a little four year old, demanding that everybody look at him. The intent was to focus attention on himself, and he got his way. He came in stomping and hollering, got the reaction he wanted, and still, it's not enough. This thread has to be ...

When I say cult, I mean a high-control organization. It can be a religious group, a pyramid scheme, some 12 step groups, etc. I was raised in in the Mormon cult. Mormons have their lives micromanaged to the point of there being a rule for absolutely everything under the sun, from what you wear, to t...

Although I am working on it, I have real problems with navigating websites. I've spent a lot of time just trying to figure out how to post my pic in this thread. Turns out that a link is the best I can do right now. Anyway, click the link, and there's a pic of me. http://s706.photobucket.com/albums/...

As I understand it, the Mormons came up with the idea that the American Indians are actually descended from Jews--I never followed the full story, but supposedly some Jews who left Egypt at the time of Moses came to America. The Mormons' ideas about black people are even more reprehensible. Makes y...

I'm leaving this thread alone, in hopes that removing myself will get it back on topic. I was really enjoying it, until recently. It felt great to talk to people who had different opinions, stated in such thoughtful, non-personal ways. I had just been telling my significant other how refreshing that...

pandd, again, you make no sense. You're so emotional. If you want to say that I am intellectually bankrupt for making the statement that matriarchies are egalitarian, no matter what the dictionary says, that's fine. If you find the word "fancy" to not be acceptable somehow, I really don't care. But ...

I think that these arguments are inapplicable to the statement that I made in the context of this discussion. That's just a fancy way of saying that you aren't saying anything. I still have no idea what you are trying to argue. I can only infer that you have problems with the feminist movement. I c...

pandd, I believe that you would rather argue for the sake of arguing. I already stated why I stand by my definition of matriarchy, yet instead of acknowledging that with a return argument, you repeat your non-argument. I even went so far as to allude to the dictionary definition ignoring the meaning...

Garyww, I'm not sure if you think my comments were directed towards you, concerning the out of the gate attacks. My bad for not using the quote function. I have terrible issues with navigating new websites (I actually blogged about that on Myspace yesterday). I was addressing pandd, and everything I...

Several people on this very thread have disagreed with me. That doesn't bother me in the least. I would take you as a mens rights activist because they always present their arguments as you did. First, they find some tiny thing (like you did with the word matriarchy) and attempt to turn it into what...

Pandd, Let me guess. I've just encountered my first MRA on Wrongplanet, right? I do not know. Perhaps if I knew what a MRA was I could clarify further. Google is your friend. MRA's are mens rights activists. They're a bunch of men who pretend that feminism is oppressing them, and they come right ou...

I'm a card-carrying member, and I'm satisfied that they do what I want them to do when I pay my yearly dues. Their function is to keep women abreast of current issues, and to sometimes send out rallying cries for a particular one. Essentially, they're journalists. They serve as sort of a hub for fem...

I don't find NOW ineffective at all. What are your criticisms of them?
