perhaps the evangelist OP should start his crusade by learning how to spell autism (see thread title).

in my case, it depends on the type of stimulus. i have a high threshold for temperature - take what i've been told are scalding hot baths, that a half an hour later a family member cannot get into after me because it's still too hot. likewise, i put an ice pack on my lower back recently as i straine...

psychological barriers are not as easy to overcome as one may imagine... my partner is having the same issues as you, inclusive of very similar origins as those you have described. he is now talking with a therapist about these things, and the first suggestion was that we just do some touching exerc...

Considering your viewpoints, i have a hard time understanding why you insist that women should 'look and behave to some degree like ladies'. What about those of us that don't feel like ladies on the inside? Your opinion on this is exclusive. A bit paradoxical in my opinion. This could also apply to ...

As far as I remember (someone else already said this), he had previously only supported the idea of decriminalization of marijuana. He supported doctors medically prescribing marijuana. I don't think he's contradicted himself at all. I think a lot of the problem is that because Obama is so different...

I've heard this before, but it was in relation to AS girls being more susceptible to sexual abuse - for the same reasons. I think it must be a valid point. Personally, it applies to me.

The line "... but everyone has that" is so common. Even from more mainstream people. A psychiatrist asked about my noise sensitivity, so I mentioned an example--having to keep telling others every few minutes to put the TV on a lower volume etc.--and he said "But everyone's like that." I didn't thi...

This is actually something i've been thinking about during the last two weeks due to the fact that i've just completed a university course on Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. There has been a lot of evidence that actually going through the process of constructing a narrative is beneficial. This can b...

I don't like it too much if people are quiet. If people do not interact, I can't tell what they're thinking. Also, they really really bore me and annoy me because they often act weird by avoiding interaction as if they're scarred or something. i can't see why avoiding interaction would be considere...

skinny, no muscles, i couldn't give 2 sh**s about how big the wallet is, sober, quiet, smart, non-overbearing, not touchy-feely, doesn't want to know what i'm thinking or feeling every 15 minutes, not a lot of questions, honest, has his own life, gives me space.

So, I ran into a co-worker and this is how the conversation went. Person: Hi Me (at the same time): Hi, how are you? Me (again): I'm fine, how are you? I know some of them wonder sometimes how I have a master's degree; it sucks having such a difficult time with small talk. i don't have a master's d...

i second the notion that weed can make your emotions more prevalent, as opposed to numbing them. that's what it did to me much of the time, and i was a pothead for number of years... i still really enjoy it though, and if i could afford to be stupid i would still smoke it sometimes. but, i can't, an...
