If you were short on endorphins, you would probably have some very strong endorphin-seeking behavior. For example, you might run marathons; excercise brings out endorphins. You might be very involved with body-piercing or tattoos. You might engage in self-injury (there are many reasons you might do... |

I'm glad you found something that helped you, you may want to mention it to your doctor because as a pain med I doubt it's used to help AS and they may want to test it but unless you still feel as good since you stopped taking it than i's not a cure hut it may be a viable treatment. Yes that's comp... |

A few days ago my mom snapped at me and told me I should start taking care of myself. She complained about my hair (in need of a haircut), my clothes (old), and told me that if I hated my life that much so as to not take care of myself I should just kill myself and get it over with. If my mom had t... |

After a foot surgery I was on a little used pain killer called Ultram which relies on different priniciples thatn most pain killers. it inhibits some receptor in the brain or something While I was on it my head cleared. I could function better than all the other people around me. I felt better. The ... |

Okay you talked me into it I'm going to be blunt and honest. Judging by this thread and a few others, you have to be really careful about what you post on here. How can this be called a support site when what you post gets used against you. I would be extremely wary of what I posted here...and have... |

Actually, this really isn't a support site. It's a site where people like Wander Man and TheDoctor82 get together and try to make it sound like they are great and people with problems bring it all on themselves. That is not "support". It is a support site sometimes, I'll give it that. Hey now that'... |

Yeah life is hard for some of us. Those of you who are making huge successes of yourselves count yourselves lucky because you truly are! Not everyone gets the same breaks in life as you. I didn't get breaks dude...I made my own breaks. I gave it my all, and when that wasn't enough, I gave it more. ... |

Sorry folks, but if some emo loser (or the OP) wants sympathy, empathy, or a warm, fuzzy hug, then he or she would be better off posting in The Haven or the Kid's Crater. FU, you are the one who is not welcome here. You know what I'd call a real "loser" some one who has to build up their own fragil... |

Some of us focus on real problems, like getting fired, grief over a dead friend or relative, addicted boyfriends, or being stalked by a stranger. Being unhappy over being unpopular, getting miffed over an imaginary insult, or posting seemingly endless "Do You Like Me?" polls just aren't as importan... |

Yes, from what I've seen elitism is definitely a problem with Wrong Planet. Haven't been here long, but since you asked, yes. If you don't mind me asking, what has given you the impression WP is Elitist? I look at the threads from time to time and it doesn't look particularly elitist. People start ... |

This is the lack of empathy site, the empathy site is at the other end of the internet. The self centered detachment of autism is in regard to all things. You are complaining about our lack of social skills? I am an elitest nazi because I do not show compassion for your problems? I see you running ... |

Thanks so much for the replies. Tell me, has anyone of you with this problem managed to live a relatively "normal" life? I can't figure out how I can function unless I get rid of this. How would I hold a job, or even have meaningful relationships, when I drop of the face of the earth every few month... |

I seem to go through periods of about 2 to 3 months in which I gradually get more and more depressed, feel hopeless and pathetic and stop caring about everything. I mean REALLY depressed, I’ll obsessively envision killing myself and often lie around without leaving the house, I’ll just leach off my ... |
