My own personal experience leads me to strongly recommend 5-htp. It's not a drug, it's a food supplement, and it provides your body with everything it needs to make plenty of seratonin. According to my research, autistic biology processes seratonin differently, and much of the "visible" autistic sig...

I thought the show was as much about the role of the parents, especially the mothers, in the lives of the 3 guys. All 3 mothers clearly love their sons and want what they think is best for them, but as a result of the poor education available to parents of children with autism, their understanding o...

There's another problem, quite a glaring one that's overlooked. We're discussing differences in consciousness here, in essence. The autistic consciousness versus the NT consciousness. However, we have no science of consciousness, and cannot explain in scientific terms what it is or how it works, so ...

The biggest surprise about Kinder eggs is how many people buy them. I mean, a penny's worth of crap low grade chocolate and a bit of crappy plastic that cost about 5p. Just goes to show, put enough sugar in something and kids will eat it up.

Anxiety25, I think you've got it spot on. If we are going to argue that AS isn't a disability and is just a "different normal", then we cannot demand to have everything our way, and there has to be compromise. My partner and I have worked things out fairly well. We both work, but in the evenings he'...

A lot of these studies and their conclusion remind me of a criticism I level at my partner on occasion. They all appear to take the view of "you don't do that my way, therefore you do it wrong". Since most of these tests compared us with NTs doing NT things, and then assess us according to how much ...

It's hard to say without knowing what it is you need to talk about, but your best course of action might be to find a friendly guy online and talk about it with them, using the distance and anonymity of the internet to allay your fears about talking about it with another man. It certainly sounds lik...

Any visit to a hospital can be very stressful to someone with autism, and especially a child. It's bright, it smells funny, there's lots of people walking around, running around, sitting around, and it generally involves a great deal of inactivity, and a great deal of stress and uncertainty about wh...

Orwell, explain to be how you, you personally, know that the evidence supports either side. Do not tell me anything that has been told to you in books, or by any other person. Only tell me something that you have observed and witnessed for yourself and explain the methodology you used to prove that ...

Google the Sumerian civilisation and you'll find a wealth of information. How much of it is true or based in fact and how much of it is conjecture I really don't know, and to be honest it doesn't bother me. It may all be nonsense made up by someone in order to have a laugh. Without a time machine, w...

It's very easy to grab a video of a 17 year old kid who's read a few books on the subject or maybe watched a few videos and understood a fraction of what he read and is only repeating what he thinks he learnt. If you then take half sentences of what he says, removing them from any context and then r...

I find it very amusing how many straight guys say that the thought of anal sex is "disgusting", and yet so many of them are begging, nay, pleading their girlfriends or wives to allow them to do that very same "disgusting" thing to them.
