I'm going to seek treatment and avoid meds for now, but I'll see how things go. I know there's nothing to do for the relationship - doesn't change the fact my brain tells me there is! :S

Do you recommend trying medication for it? As I feel like I'm in that breakdowny loop stage and not getting any better, but I was thinking of trying CBT first.

I think I understand what I did and what went wrong, and what not to do in the future, but obviously putting it into practice is a different issue. Why is it so bad to entertain the notion of talking to her, even in the future when I'm over this though?

So I finally had a relationship with a girl who didn't have her own issues... and she left because of mine. Sigh.

This is something I really suffer from as well - when I was little I was very much a 'checker' with things like light switches and washing my hands, but I got over that as part of my OCD. Now I've obsessed over relationships and people and I've hurt my ex quite a lot with that - and am still obsessi...

Hi everyone, I was wondering if it was just me, or if anyone else here suffers from a similar sort of thing. I've never had massively long relationships, they usually only last about a month or two, and I seem to be suffering from the same problem in each - I can be very controlling and obsessive, a...

It is when it's paired with drugs and bad men. Now it's nice to have a bottle of wine of an evening. :D Oh trust me, I have my f**** up moments. I'm just doing quite well at the moment so I seem quite normal. True, but anything combined with those two would be bad. :P Doesn't everyone have th...

You don't seem f****d up, we're having a decent conversation :) And no one ever said getting drunk that much was bad... ;)

Haha :) I never ever understand those people who stay sober and still have fun. It's pointless, being drunk is what a party's for! Sounds like you've had some experiences :P

Lucky :) I find that I can go to parties, but I won't be able to socialise at all if I'm sober. I almost feel my AS goes away when I'm drunk, but I'm not sure if it's my imagination or just me.

That makes sense I suppose :) But if you stayed away forever I guess you would've never met your guy?

"Light and Breezy" Sounds nice :)

Is it that you just don't want to see anyone or are afraid of talking to others or...?

EDIT: Sorry, just realised I'm not being very Breezy :P

I try and be positive about life for the same reason, I don't always succeed though :) What's the adult forum like? I haven't had a chance to look over there yet. Joined a couple of years ago but I've only just become interested to post. How come you don't like to be outside? Besides the cold, of co...

From what you've told me, it sounds like C has experienced nothing compared to you. I hope she gets some perspective in later life.

Thanks for the chat, btw :) It's been nice to get to know you. I have no idea how you've managed to post over 4000 things on the site :S Do you use it a lot?

Wow, do you mind me asking what happened?

I've thought this before, but you saying that has made me think about it a bit more, that she didn't really give me a chance to 'even it out'. She got bored and went back to him, is the impression I got. Which sucks, but, I do hope I find someone better :)

Wow, and you're only 21.

He sounds really lovely. When I was with B, I think I pushed her too much to talk about things, and it led her into the arms of an ex. I wish I could've been as understanding as your guy sounds.
