Sometimes I think it is just me, no matter what I do. There is an episode of South Park that fits this situation well, oddly enough. The one where they parody High School Musical? Everyone in South Park has jumped on the HSM wagon and the leader is a 3rd grader whose dad makes him do musicals, so al... |

They're describing anti-social behavioral disorder and/or sociopathy. It can be co-morbid with Asperger's, but it is not a direct sign/symptom of Asperger's alone. Frankly, I have loads of emotion, empathy and sympathy, I just show it differently and tend to intellectualize it more than "feel" it. I... |

I'm so glad I just got my masters in journalism. The death of the newspaper is such a bad idea. |

Boy does this peel the scab off a barely healed wound. I was a member of a committee in college, and we were an extremely tight knit group (I thought) and I did everything with this same group of about 12-15 friends for over two years. The kind of 'leader' of the group was my very best friend, and I... |

I've alternated between the two over the years, never really finding a good balance. In my early 20s I had a lot of emotional traumas, and would literally spend hours telling strangers all my secrets, feelings, and emotions in a bit of a desperate bit to connect, I guess. I threw everything bad or p... |

My advice may seem almost contradictory, but I don't mean it that way. Primarily, even if he is on the spectrum, he is obviously high functioning and intelligent enough to know what he is doing and saying - Aspergers isn't and shouldn't be a blank check to say and do whatever we want, especially whe... |

hayleylovesyou, you are describing an effect I experience 24/7 that I call "the jukebox". There is always a song or snippet thereof playing in my head. Furthermore, it is always an exact replication of the version of the song that "imprinted" in my mind, usually but not always the second or third t... |

Films. People think its strange how much I know, but not that it is my interest. Though it makes me stand out in Nashville - if music had been my first love, no one would ever notice anything different about me at all. Since I found out about my Aspergers, I've decided to give up on my former career... |

I'm not sure what your doctor is describing, but my experience is I'll get something stuck in my head - Like a word said a specific way (often something I like the sound of, or something in another language), a punchline to a joke, a line from a song, something someone said to me - it will repeat in... |

This is one of my biggest problems. I have a few friends that I can talk with about random, interesting things we've read. We often share articles we've read on facebook and have discussions about them, and that is the nature of our friendship, and I guess I erroneously think that's how you have con... |

You might be experiencing what I've taken to calling a "Friendocalypse" - I've had 3 group ones since I was about 17 (I'm 26 now) Though I've tried and at times thought I was succeeding, I've never been able to really have more than 1 or 2 actual friends at a time, though there have been times when ... |

Oh man, any hope I had left of convincing myself I'm not an Aspie continues to quickly disappear. I do disappear, frequently. I need to, at least for a few hours every few days. In the past I used to disappear for days - my parents used to log onto my AIM and message random people to find me - one t... |

If you mean is there a job at the Apple Retail Stores where you can be in the back of house fixing the computers all day, the answer is mostly no, with a few exceptions. All Geniuses have to work at the bar dealing with customers either for designated parts of the days, and, if it is a larger store,... |

You're not necessarily screwed. I've worked customer service jobs my whole life without knowing that it was different and harder for me than everyone else. I even found out that they kept me on, even though I'm weird and awkward with most people, because I excel and connect with the "different" cust... |
