One therapist said I was definitely autistic, another said I was not but have autistic features and another thougt it was a mild form. So, I declared myself to be someone with Asperger's of someone with high-functioning autism. I think most people would say I have a mild form of autism and I would a...

I must admit that I can count the parties I went to on one hand. I just get freaked out by the idea of loud music, people that just want to get drunken, a lot of people in a small area so that they are close at your skin, .... The few parties I went to, I could cope for an hour, two hours at maximum...

I don't cry often when I see movies, but there are a few exceptions. Like Ben X, an Asperger movie (in the movie there is an happy ending, but in real life the boy did commit suicide). And sometimes I can get tears in my eyes without really crying (or does that count also?).

I can relate to most of you guys. I never told someone, no one did ever ask me and I think nobody suspect that I have Asperger's. So why waking up sleeping dogs? But I must say that I'm glad that there is something like Wrong Planet to talk about my Asperger's. The downside of not telling anyone is ...

I don't know if i already accept my Asperger. I got the diagnosis a year ago and in the beginning I researched autism and Asperger a lot and recognised myself in it. A year later, I understand Asperger and I can see that there are a lot of traits I have, but there are others I don't have. So sometim...

For me, it depends on the person plus the subject, but I think that I am pretty good at it. I don't have really that much problems, but I must be fair that my circle of people I meet is pretty narrow and I am comfortable with most of them. But I don't like it when they get too personal and trying to...

At home with my cell phone, I have a tendancy to pace. But at work, it is a regular telephone set, so I can't pace. And even, must it be a cell phone or a headset, I think I won't pace at work :D

So like many others, it would depend on the situation. Is it really severe of is it a mild form? Does the child suffer a lot or are there just the disappointments you have to deal with? Furthermore, it is difficult for me to judge what the right answer would be. I only have learned about my Asperger...

This thread is depressing me. Me too :? Everyone was so young while I was already six starting to read. By the way, I have a question in between. Does everybody remembers them reading or is that just information you learned from your parents? I notice that many of you guys can remember details when...

For all I can remember from elementary school, I know I can read. I don't know if I could read before, because reading is something that is taught in first year of elementary school here in Belgium. So I think I was six, but I should ask my parents if I could read earlier on.

I frequently ignore people I am angry with..often because I don't know how else to deal with them....the problem is that sometimes it is difficult to stop ignoring them. As a result, there are some people I have continued to ignore for years...Often I am not particularly angry with them anymore...I...

I don't even know if I have friends or not. I'm mostly a loner but I do get a long with some people and some of them call me a "friend". I'll just say I have about 5-6 acquaintances, with a few of them who could be friends. I can relate to this. At school I had a few schoolmates and nowadays at wor...
