The toupe looks nice. I've got a Fizik Pave on mine. I went looking for reviews and everyone seemed to say it wasn't fun to ride on--but I like it. I stopped racing because I had no life outside of that. While it's fun, it's sort of a lifestyle thing for me, not one of my obsessions. You can't argue...

Driving is like anything else--you need a lot of practice to be comfortable with it. I used to be freaked out by the idea of onramps but I quickly got over it. Also helpful was specifically practicing what to do when the car is "out of control." I found an industrial park and back roads and got a co...

I find that I've become a "selective mute," but my best friend is also an aspie (or so I think). It's great because we share the same obsessions and understand how each other thinks so well that we don't even need to talk. Or if we do, we rarely use full sentences, instead completing each others' se...

I'm really uncomfortable with receiving compliments and I don't know how to appropriately compliment someone or when I should. At work, I always hear people telling people things like "you're the man!" or other more complex compliments. But when someone says something to me, I just freeze up. Usuall...

Anything that is shocking, gross, or really personal. Most of these "shocking, gross" things that people react negatively to don't seem to affect me. I usually have a good laugh and proceed to contribute my own details before realizing that the other people were actually disturbed by it. Oops. I li...

Excellent introduction and welcome to WP! I'm new here too, but I've spotted a lot of people who seem to think along the same lines as me. I hope you will too. But a caution: pretending that NTs are mythological creatures can have unintended results, like your landlord showing up to collect rent in ...

It's a very expensive way to self-medicate. I'm considering going to a psychologist to get an actual script for my anxiety. I've smoked a fair amount (and done plenty of other stuff) in my time and it always helped me to focus and act more like an NT. If nothing else, it gave me -something- in commo...

Hi Leah! I'm here for similar reasons (wanting to meet people with a similar approach to mine). It seems like it can be too easy to jump to a diagnosis of something else before AS, especially since we tend toward the shy side and might not reveal everything necessary to properly gauge it.
