I can entirely relate to that desire and thinking. I used to use the analogy that each person gave the other the key to their heart.

Always. Mowing the lawn, doing dishes, cleaning up - outright painful.

I'm damned doing it (painful) or not doing it (guilt = painful).

Life is hard, I enjoy it.

Tingling of the scalp/head developed for me at age 35 when I had no clue I had aspergers (realized 4 years later). I would SERIOUSLY consider this an allergy symptom (nerve problems). For me, it was gluten. It really isn't had to go Gluten-free for 2 weeks... then eat some bread and see if you feel ...

You may want to look at a gluten-free diet and see if your headaches clear up. It was my primary symptom, not stomach issues - but headache (swelling?) issues.

Like the gluten-free thing, I say just try it. Maybe it is possible that Vitamin D symptoms for _some people_ can match Autistic symptoms. Especially if dealing with an adult or older kid - try it for a couple weeks. What is it going to hurt? If you see improvement... then great. It is these 'blanke...

I was suspicious of the stories that said that a gluten free diet or a dairy free diet is good for autistic people. If you are an adult, it's pretty damn simple. For me, I felt sick (drugged) all the time for years. I went gluten-free for at least 45 days... now if I eat regular bread I turn red an...

Some time back someone passed along this resource to me on autistic shutdowns: http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1707940 What you're describing doesn't meet any definition of a shutdown I've ever heard of. I've always heard them described as lasting for hours at the most, not days or weeks, a...

Only eat certain brands or types of a certain food, texture, smell & taste issues that are just plain weird? I personally only like muenster cheese, 2% milk, seedless breads, & avoid greens/any crunchy veggies. I also hate the rubber like perogies (can't spell it  ) my ex-HS served (t...

When we are able to understand that there is no collective consciousness ganging up on us, then we have a better chance of understanding how we function and interrelate with those who think and work differently than ourselves. Are you so sure on this point? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_u...

I guess it is up to him tomarrow, if he wants to live with it or work through it with me. It isn't an option to _not_ work together. it's just a matter of time until the relationship fails if there isn't a true 'your problems are our/us/we problems' attitude. Let's be frank and to the point. Almost...

My 14 year old daughter has been off school for 4 weeks with an undiagnosed problem. She keeps going into a state of semi-conciousness, usually on standing but sometimes while sitting or while walking. It is totally debilitating. She gets strong twitching movements and her limbs ( usually left hand...

For those that were diagnosed (self or otherwise) as adults, I am curious as to what your living situation was like as a child? I was thinking about this today because I found it interesting that so many of us can go for 20/30/40 years without anyone really noticing our aspie traits. In my situatio...

Even if I don't end up having it, what harm can a test do? Why's he so against it?

That's why I suggested not tell him... hard earned experience. he is a paid professional that works for YOU, stop letting him manipulate you.

PEOPLE UNITE> PURSUE YOUR PASSIONS where you can, and live in a place of joy. :) That is where we find it - in our special interests. That is all there is. I'm not sure "unite" and "pursue your [individual] passions" are entirely compatible ;) But I get your point. The lesson you emphasize is a ver...

Ok so a common person has .00666 chance of getting Autism, that's roughly half a percent, if we are such a rare group why is it we must spread apart so much? I don't agree with your premise at all. Certain society like the Japanese elevate and encourage those with nerdy talents. As did Silicon Vall...
