Seems like there are more males in the area than females. Is this in fact true or are the males simply more vocal/outgoing? |

Are you looking for simply a diagnosis? I can recommend a very good specialist who can probably give a diagnosis with a short, face to face interview for a few hundred. If you are looking for a full evaluation with several standardized tests, levels, etc it would be more. His office is in Orange Cou... |

I believe it is because the only people who get to speak are celebs, doctors with lots of degrees, or other people who are already famous. Doctors can describe symptoms or diagnosis but they can't really explain what autism is or how it affects thinking, feeling, etc because they simply don't know. ... |

I have Asperger's and I compete in the special olympics (as a coach). I coach but there is a category for unified teams which consist of a team of half coaches and half athletes. Each state and city may be a little different, but it is a way to compete as a "coach" and not as someone with "asperger'... |

I consider myself an aspie. I usually explain that it is under the bigger umbrella of autism. |

I have a bit of an awkward gait, but it is mainly from tearing up my knees during sports, not from AS. |

In the movie he is identified as having mental retardation. That would have been his primary diagnosis of the time (1950's?), although he definately had autistic traits.
Of course there is also Rainman and I am Sam (one of my favorite movies). |

Mr. Bean- Yes he is curious, but he also has an awkward gait and limited speech. He has poor social skills and his best friend is his teddy. Mr. Spock- Star Trek Very logical, lack of emotion. Data-Star Trek Next Generation Lacks emotion, very logical (a more recent Mr. Spock). Always tries to imita... |

I am sensitive to light, but not to the point of getting migrains. My sensitivity varies depending on my mood, if I am tired, hungry, or maybe slightly overloaded. I don't think getting migraines from just light would cause an overload by itself, but I could be wrong. I think it could be part of bei... |

This customer may have been having a bad day and just took it out on you. If you apologized and made the effort to call her back more than once, then there was not really anything else you could have done. Don't be too hard on yourself. You did not lose the customer based on your actions. Aspies hav... |

Since I am a teacher, I keep my aspie diagnosis a secret. I am able to blend in with NTs fairly well but I struggle with not knowing where or when I will teach again. I hate not having that routine in my life. I am looking at other career options though. It's sad because on one hand, all I ever hear... |

Since I am currently looking for a job, here are some suggestions I got from my University advisor: Drop of your resume and a cover letter in person when possible. Dress nice, you never know when you may get an instant interview. Ask ahead of time who to address the cover letter to. In your resume a... |
