bunnyowen, it seems that the only relevant question about what you believe is...what you believe. I don't think anybody else knows more than you about the unknowable. Each of us has a lifetime of experiences, influences, and inclinations that shape our beliefs, and nobody else's is going to have mu... |

So... back to the relevant on-topic discussion... after seeing my testimony above, is there anyone who can give any information that is pertinent to what i am looking for? I want to see how people view their religion (not how others view their religion), and how it affects them on a day to day basis... |

There have been comments by many people, some Christian, some not. This is an open discussion group and when comments are made here there is no way you can prevent them being confronted and questioned. That's the nature of the site. Perhaps you can glean from the various comments what you requested... |

What is this "theology" that holds all the answers? Even if a hugely superior being actually spoke to humans and told them some cock and bull story about their superior worth, why is this believable? Would you be ethically constrained to not lie to a bedbug if you wanted to amuse yourself to see wh... |

Sorry to have disturbed you. You have to make up your own mind as to the acceptability of religious beliefs. As you can see, I have more or less decided for myself. You seem to be in trouble because your friend has beliefs that do not coincide with yours and you are looking for some way to change y... |

There will be no understanding if you refuse to learn. hence why i am on this journey; understanding is a key point, but it is difficult as many people see faith, (not just religious faith) in many different and seemingly contradictory mind frames; often sayin it is "personal, and not easy to desci... |

A miracle is something that occurs that is against the known laws of physics or chemistry. It never happens. Without turning this into a thread on science and mathematics (i have a degree in the latter, and working towards a degree in the former) there are still laws of physics and chemistry that a... |

if you read my posts, you can see that i am an agnostic, and my partner is a conservative christian i am still in love with him, and we share alot of our lives with each other; i even end up going to church with him on occasion. Love doesnt care what religion a person is, it only cares about who the... |

Despite popular aphorisms on the subject time does not lessen the loss of an important person by death. But I will concede that I might be psychologically different in this. I see no value in devaluing the sense of loss and any attempt to do so strikes me as cheapening the value of life itself. Tha... |

The intensity of my hostility is energized by my very deep anguish over one of the prime events in my life. My strong feelings are the result of what appears to me to demean the very essence of actually being alive and I cannot take that any way but personally. To be honest, it appears to affect yo... |

i didnt want to find love, but my now-partner is so important to me! He has helped me with alot fo stuff with my AS, and has made sure I am ok if i were to have an anxiety attack; often putting my needs ahead of his own. As said above, it is more the companionship side of things that we share, and w... |

thank you all alot for the information. I admit, I have asked these things, as one of my closest friends is a devout christian, and i am trying to see things from his perspective; you have all given me alot to think about. Although, I would ask that Sand please not be quite so hostile; i am on a jou... |

I'm a Christian and I'm happy to help answer any questions you have. I've grown up knowing about God and never didn't have him in my life. But I got saved officially when I was 17 since that's when I really started to learn more and understand things. I pray every night and find that it does work. ... |

Hi folks I am looking for someone who is religious, any religion, but preferably Christian (denomination is also unimportant for my thoughts) to try and help me understand a little bit more about it Mostly I guess I am wondering "Why?" Why do you find comfort in it? Why do you choose to follow it? W... |
