I have just recently joined after reading the wee article about how to respond to the "how was your day" question, and would really like to read more on the topic. I have only ever been offered counselling to deal with the obviously traumatic (!) lack of friends, not a "Dummies guide to interacting"...

I do have a hearing impairment too, but there are some things I feel I am almost immune to, no matter how loud I turn up the volume on the radio I still cannot hear radio 4, it's nonsense!

Wow, I thought I was alone in the universe. I can't bear people saying my name but when I used to work in a call centre (least appropriate work for someone with a phone phobia!) I was told people really loved it and I was marked down for not patronising them with their name at least 3 times in each ...
