I do drink. And I have a fairly high tolerance. However, I have never "lost control" with alchohol, nor do I have any desire to do so. On the very rare occasion I over indulge I view it as a bad thing, even when I am drunk. Other than alchohol (and I suppose caffine) I have no tolerance for any drug... |

Fundies are obviously bad for society, This is not at all obvious to me. I agree with you and Orwell that they are wrong about a great many things, but that is not the same thing at all. Have you ever even met any fundamentalists? All 4 of my grandparents were Southern Baptist, as well as very nice... |

1) An economics question is a human question. The two are inseperable to me. The definition of economics I use (and I am not alone) is human action. I surmise from this and the rest of your post that you are perhaps a fan of the Austrian School? What I was referring to was more narrowly material we... |

Why just focus on money? Because it's an economic question, and questions of economics are most easily notated just by simplifying down to a dollar quantity. In turn by wishing to bring about these schemes the need for effective propaganda and centralization almost certainly comes following after, ... |

It is definatly off. But then again most pop culture type quize things are, just think of all those pop psych tests. But they are fun to take if not taken too seriously. Questions like this (and there were many): In criminal justice, punishment should be more important than rehabilitation. this give... |

Why just focus on money? Why not intelligence, height, sex appeal, etc? And that's a good point as well - mainly that the human condition creates many different kinds of heirarchy, people for the sake of their own comfort need to find their own niche or energy level that they can function to the be... |

One of the main arguments leveled against socialism is that it is less efficient than capitalism. However, this confuses the goal of socialism- it is not necessarily to maximize production, it is to ensure equality in distribution of what is produced. For someone who values egalitarianism over tota... |

(1) Minimize the use of machines for automation, so that people can build things on assembly lines and otherwise have the jobs back that machines have taken. (2) Provide tax benefits to companies that increase with the amount of employees they employ. Any thoughts? Yes we could increase "employment... |

Sorry for the triple post, the "submit button" got stuck. Once again, I think you are right. More of a miscommunication. How often does that happen when people talk politics and ideologies? Too often I forget that people come from completley different grounds as far as the thinking process is concer... |

Secular Humanism makes no sense to me. It is people who ditched religion and replaced it with various other forms of mysticism and spooks, and with less logic usually, they just don't realize it. Either that, or it is a code word for certain groups of scheming type people who have an agenda to push... |

Thanks for the explanation. I assumed it was a term not formalized but merely defined by the two words that composed it. I am not sure how precise science can enter such a generality without some sort of formal discipline so the concept seems vague to me. Ah, not at all. There are even manifestos f... |
