I never this video on youtube or anything. I saw it on tv. The following is all I could find-- I believe these are some short segments. http://www.kpbs.org/news/2011/apr/07/decoding-autism/ I think I did consider this carefully and thoughtfully. Recall that I stated I was upset by it. I found the br... |

I haven't posted here in ages, but I am really ticked. I watched this last night. I think this is an Autism Speaks shrill. At least I didn't see anyone from the Autism Society (I don't know they went). All about cures and so on. Some of it was interesting re: differences in the brain. They interview... |

x_amount_of_words, there are American adult users on wp with service dogs [for their ASD],they got them as adults,if have been looking for them-have found every charity/organisation that offers it? the UK is rubbish with service dogs and only offers them to autie children currently. It could help a... |

I love the kid who does agility with the dog. I know a person who trained his dog to be an emotional support dog (I think that's the level of training he has). He was not a perfectly trained dog, more supportive in confusing situations that kind of thing. He was trained to lean which was quite a nic... |

These are some very cool videos on service dogs for autistic kids. There is no talk of cure.
One or two are a bit sickly sweet, but I love the one about the kid who trains his service dog to do agility:

Frontal labotomy? Ok seriously though i agree with meditation but you weren't very specific in your question. I'd be VERY wary of a medication that affects your thoughts, unless you are hearing voices or having psychotic/dangerous/scary thoughts, medication should be an absolute last resort and man... |

Can you grow out of it? If you can, why are people opposing a cure? It's no different... It just takes longer to develop empathy and ToM, but now I have it it's more developed than most peoples (I was reading my statement of special needs recently, and discovered how much of it doesn't apply to me ... |

Funny thing, almost every forum I have been on on the net, we have gotten into a discussion of the Meyers Brigg. I don't remember exactly what mine was, but it was INTJ or something, and almost everyone on any forum turns out to be somewhere close. I imagine that people who spend a lot of time onlin... |

That is just weird. My theory is that the spider bite had a teeny bit of neurotoxin. At a very low dose like this it actually had a positive effect. I think there are some studies of very low dose neurotoxin. (There is precedent with low dose of muscular toxin like botulism. They use it in Cerebral... |

Sources of white noise?? I can't even think of that many. (TY, radio static) Does anyone really get exposed to it that much? I don't know where people get these ideas.
I was about 5 or 6 when we first got TV. The first color tvs were very weird with very bad color.

you may have excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills. I'm very curious now...why are organizational and interpersonal skills crucial for an airline pilot? Malcolm Gladwell talks about this in the book "Outliers". He talks about how when things go wrong, you need to be able to commu... |

I'm a bit sceptical about the association between Aspies and monotony because there is so much culturally-induced monotony around. There are monotonous accents and there are too many people speaking in those monotonous accents to be accounted for by ASDs. It's not even at a national level but a loc... |

Wait staff are real people, but they are busy, so you don't carry on conversations (haha, like you probably would). I say "thank you", "please", etc. I ask if they are going to bring me a check or not. Or sometimes you can see if someone coming up. I don't ever use chopsticks-- it would be a great w... |

I talk outloud to myself. I have never really learned not to do this, but I do know it isn't appropriate. I do it mostly to talk out how I am going to do something but it might be something quite small. I have heard it is typical on the spectrum, but I guess it isn't only people on the spectrum. I t... |

IIRC, Picture Completion has you put pictures in order to tell a coherent story. That would be Picture Arrangement if you do mean the cartoon/card stories would it. Yes, that's the one associated with autism-- in that people with autism have lower scores than average. However, there is no way to us... |
