I used to want NT kids. But now I'm older ( 38 ) I'd much rather have spectrum kids - since I finally figured out how to see that's what's wrong is society's way of dealing with me (rather than what's supposedly wrong with ME). The next generation will have it better in that regard. Autistics are AW... |

I have, more than once, and it never really worked. I've since learned that, shallow as it may be, I have definite upper limits for both age and weight and that I should respect those preferences. It also depends on just how unattractive you find the person. If it's a question of "meh", I usually go... |

You are not alone. Not by a long shot. I was smoking cigarettes for awhile again last year and I burned a bunch of the hair around my face so now I've got all these stupid whispies that annoy me to no end and were bugging the crap out of me tonight. Also, I LOATHE water on my face in the shower - I ... |

There also seems to be a trend for people with Asperger's to have their own issues with gender identity. Perhaps because of the association with "masculinity", many female Aspergians have more of a male gender identity. However, I know many aspie males who are much more feminine than the societal no... |

For the sake of diplomacy it is best to just take a person's word for it, whatever they claim their gender to be. Or their sexual orientation, or their neurotype, or anything else that is personal to them and not necessarily obvious from the outside. We are our own best experts. Denying someone the... |

I've been making small sounds and gestures since I was a child. I've found that I have a small modicum of control in that I'm able to minimize them halfway out if people are around, like being quieter or pretending to scratch my nose. But when I'm all by myself? All everything cuts loose. So I do te... |

"but if I try to stop I get all tense and the tics get worse" I have something I feel is similar to Tourette's. For me, I've tracked it back enough to know that it most usually happens when I'm having self doubts are am thinking about something I did wrong or otherwise screwed up. If I let the tics ... |

I have been drinking raw milk for years (whenever I can afford it). It's something like $8 a half gallon here in California, but at least it's legal to buy in the stores, unlike the rest of the country, from what I hear. I'm not a dietitian, but I think it's awesome. It's supposed to have probiotics... |

Honestly, if you're going FtM, I think you might have better luck with the expectations people have for your social skills. Men are given much more slack in this department, I think. Best of luck, and ((hugs)). |

I super duper do that. I can listen to the same song or narrow set of songs for days, weeks, even months. Especially when I'm working. |

College is totally worthless unless you want something very specific out of it. I went one semester out of high school then took a decade plus break because I was way more interested in the "real world". Eventually, I realized that my real world kinda sucked and was really tiny and confined. So I de... |

Sleeping pills don't work on me, either. Have you tried tranquilizers like valium or xanax? Those anti anxiety meds were the only thing that ever knocked me out - probably just cause they shut down the overactive part of my brain that was causing the insomnia. Be cautious on the dosage though, becau... |

Sounds like me. All that 'fitting in easier' is a load of crap. What they really mean is that we're generally less disruptive and hard to handle, so we don't get noticed by the adults as much. |

Friends. Friends are really important. Find one or two that you can really talk to. Girls are often better at listening and lending emotional support. Making friends is the first thing I did to heal myself after a long depressive stint and suicide attempt. |
