I get turned on by women with either walleyes or crossed eyes. Always have. As for aesthetics in general, I have a strong--almost emotional, almost like getting "turned on"--response when I find something aesthetically pleasing. (I think many NT's do, anyway.) But what I find pleasing isn't always "...

This topic has been an interesting read! Crassus has really perfected the art of flirting, it seems, and "broken the code" helped me understand flirting a lot. But now that I understand it more, I perhaps like it even less. I -do- pay women compliments from time to time, which is difficult for me, b...

. . .noticing things others have missed and spirit communication (stimming, probably, it can look mystical) which helps group cohesiveness. I've often daydreamed about how I would "make it" as a member of a tribe, and I've concluded time and again that I would have to take the role of medicine man ...

I can relate to a lot of what's been said so far, and I think it's a great topic. I'm a very competitive person, but when I play games with others, I'm not competing with my opponents--I'm competing with myself! I like to best myself, and that's where the fun of playing games comes in for me. Also, ...

I think it's a "fun" theory, but I don't think anything bears it out as true. I'm not sure what AS affecting males and females differently would have to do with supporting it. It's also a potentially dangerous theory, in that seriously purporting it could undermine support for the AS community. No o...

Friend, I rehearse conversations all the time. I also go back over conversations often as well, inserting what I believe might have sounded better at the time. I'm not a quick-witted person, I do not think fast on my feet, so I often say things that I think sound stupid. Sometimes I even think up c...

There's an arbitrary social construct called "imagination", but I believe that imagination and interpretation actually lie on a continuum. (I think) to your point, AmberEyes, I heard an interview with neuro doctor on public radio last week about the concept of "multi-tasking". The doctor said the b...

Thanks, Crassus. That was really informative, encouraging, and reassuring! I guess the only problem with pursuing multiple methods/evaluations is that they cost a big chunk of change each time, and are likely not covered by my insurance plan, so I'm a little paranoid about choosing the right method ...

I'm just in love with the fact that everyone gets labeled "Sort of Autistic"!

For all of you who feel non-gendered, I offer the following advice: Bing & decide. Just kidding! That's from a microsoft ad to the left of my page right now. I just find it funny that microsoft purports its search engine will solve everyone's problems. I feel like this: I am male, but I suck at ...

I'm 27, self-suspected, and looking to get an evaluation. Within about 100 miles of me, I've so far located a couple children's autism centers that also offer evaluation for adults. Additionally, there's an Asperger's - specific center which offers evaluation for adults. These places have given me t...

A few possibilities:

"Classic."

"Now with Retsin!"

"Was Here."

"Laid to Rest in the Castle Aaauuuggghhhh. . . ."

But for reals:

"Loved." is simple, worthy, and grammatically ambiguous.

That's the tragedy of having AS and being mildly afflicted with it. You're functional enough that your AS symptoms are dismissed as something else and unless someone familiar with AS tells you otherwise, you struggle to fit in, but keep failing because you don't understand what you are really up ag...
