I don't think a person can find life truly "meaningless" (ie we're all just dust and even that dust is an illusion) and survive the experience. If we truly believed in the meaninglessness we'd be entirely justified in acts self-destruction (the most logical endpoint of a pointless existence given th...

I usually wear underwear solely if I'm alone for the sole sake of keeping my clothes cleaner since frequently washing clothes is uneconomical and mechanically drying clothes can be detrimental to the fabric.

At the age of 25 I was described by a psychiatrist as having "autistic thinking", yet I was never diagnosed with autism itself.

I'd love to see the famed park. I amateurishly admire the code breaking efforts and accomplishments that resulted in the development of a Bombe. The cryptographers of Benchley Park (as well as elsewhere) are among the greatest of history's unsung heroes. Bittersweet compensation is that I live near ...

You lost my attention, but not my respect. I think you underrate the degree to which other people care about you (even if strangers) and their innate desire to help solve problems. If you really need someone to do more than listen to your problems, you'll need to seek professional help via a psychol...

Confidence comes from within (it is measured by the degree of fear you perceive in your surroundings), a lack of confidence on the other hand comes from your assessment of other peoples reactions to you (if these reactions are socially positive, it builds your confidence). Confidence can come from w...

Hello, I'm a 27 year old male from Washington DC, United States. A few years ago I was diagnosed as having a schizoid personality disorder with antisocial features. I believe that I'd have been more appropriately diagnosed as autistic (of high-functioning type). If anyone is interested in talking dr...

I've never tried using CL as a friend finder. However, I'd recommend you check out (free) socially focused networking sites if looking for new friends. I'll suggest facebook, myspace, or okcupid (my personal favorite) for their sole focus on facilitating social interaction.
