The techniques are from Dr. Abraham Lowe and you can find online meetings too. It's a positive place where you wi... |

As an NT, I think I ought to point out that using the middle finger of one hand suggests a completely different message which may lead to a conflict. |

I watched the entire coverage and wonder how they can conclude the one million dollars be spent on putting in new technology to record the driver's routes instead of putting one million dollars toward hiring enough monitors? People can aide and care for those who need the consistency and care of a p... |

Hi, Good for you for advocating for your son with a private consultation since the school has its own financial and time constraints. You are your child's best advocate. My rule of thumb has always been to try to keep your child's teachers and administrators on your side. Ask for more input from the... |

In my kindergarten classroom, I teach my students a couple rules to follow to keep everyone safe. It's worked with my asperger student as well. One is "no contact". I teach them to pretend to catch a bad guy and say, "Let's say I got you" and then there is no touching, just actors playing out scenes... |

Hi, I have been studying Asperger's in preparation of a kindergartner coming into my private kindergarten class next month. I have great reservations because of his past issues with his old child care teacher. When he had meltdowns he kicked her, (she showed me the bruises) broken her jewelry and ru... |

1. "Tomorrow never comes until it's too late" "There's always tomorrow" is what people say when a difficulty has occurred and there's no more chance for the day. Say it's storming and you wanted to go on a picnic. You can go tomorrow. But, say the next day the weather is bright, warm and sunny but y... |

From what I've been studying, there are two camps. One is the medical community and the other is parents of autistic children. Science supports neurodiversity, i.e. acceptance of brain differences. Doctors have studied the effects of immunizations and concluded that they are not the cause. Science h... |

Thank you for articulating your experiences so well. Kudos to you that people only see your turmoil as increased irritability. I know I'm asking a question instead of answering, but I'm an NT teacher who's preparing for an incoming Aspie student in the fall. What is the best way to support someone w... |
