How do you like regular NT's to interact with you? Is there anyone you've been particularly keen on because of certain character traits? Personally I find I get on better with geeks and NTs who are socially awkward. If someone is really 'normal' and 'ordinary' I actually feel really uncomfortable ar... |

On that note: when selecting two eggs from the fridge, I spend ages trying to get two that are roughly the same colour and size. Does anyone do this? including cutting my bread into perfect squares before I toast it. I don't know why. :? Haha, I've done that! I spend ages in the supermarket picking... |

I used to have exactly the same lunch, breakfast and dinner but lately I started having different sandwiches for lunch each day as I heard it's bad not to mix it up a little bit. If I tried having all different things constantly like most people it would cause me ENORMOUS stress and upset, I'm just ... |

People seem to sense a sort of "magical" quality to me, and I get the feeling it inspires them. I didn't believe this for a long time, and then I finally looked back at my life and it was pretty much undeniable. I don't know how much of this is due to AS traits and how much of it is due to confiden... |

The lack of facial expressions is certainly similar, but if an Aspie does something socially unacceptable it wouldn't go down well there at all. I think England is the best place for Aspies to live. Unless they've been drinking everyone's pretty reserved and a lot of them have issues with eye contac... |

A positive feature about a guy with Aspergers. I don't always agree with the Guardians politics (I'm pretty liberal, but they're a bit TOO left wing for my liking) but they have some great articles on a Saturday. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/jul/04/autism-asperger-s-education-society ... |

It might sometimes be when I lose connection to the things around me. I've just seen a full moon out of my window and feel a bit better now. I may struggle to connect with people, but not the world around me. |

Am feeling like that now, but have no idea why... Sometimes my moods just drop for no apparent reason... it's like something heavy in my heart or an emptiness.
Does this happen to anyone else? And what do you do to pick yourself up during these times? |

Is anyone else generally introverted, but when they've known someone a long time and decided they're a nice person who's not gonna hurt them, opens up more around them? |

Does anyone else look for something predictable, ie cars driving along the road? Usually my meltdowns happen when something unexpected has happened. |

One thing I've found as well is that some people find it odd that I can get just as much pleasure from a walk around various streets as I can at a park or river. Why not when there's so much to look at? Building designs, peoples gardens, the different colours of the cars, cats etc... |

But socializing as an intuitive thing is pretty much consistent among people who aren't autistic. Hence the labeling of AS and NT. Who else has problems reading faces and body language? But then there's some people who can read facial expressions but have several other AS symptoms - obsession with ... |

I agree it's not so black and white. There's people on the mild end of the spectrum who have both NT and Autistic traits. Some don't even know they have it, but I recognise obvious signs in them. |

This forum is great because it stops you feeling so alone. As much as I enjoy my own company, it feels good to know there's others like me out there. |
