Simply put, vast success requires you be unique. If we could all do it, we'd all be rich, and then rich would be the new middle class and the dollar would be worth a nickel. Aspies are without a doubt unique, and often highly intelligent. I might think a guy who lives in a world of numbers, stock tr...

I always thought "High Functioning" meant really smart, like IQ over 120. in the NT world, it sort of does. for AS, it just means you can keep up at the bottom end of what is considered "average", so to speak. 75IQ or higher. i personally don't care for the term. not because of some politically cor...

i took many many years of multiple forms. i found it relaxing, structured, routine driven, and kept me in share without having to deal with the "team" stuff.

odd thing is, all my years of the arts were before i knew i had aspergers. it just felt right, that's all.

its funny. people cling to clout and status to feel more important about themselves. it bewilders me. the really funny thing is when these people see me not caring, they are skeptical and think i have some secret agenda. nope. really dont care. take the corner office, knock yourself out. just stop b...

i read his book, but never attended a meeting. i found his book wuite helpful, as it was my first read following my diagnosis as an adult. personally, i tend to window shop groups to decide if they are right for me, not the other way around. i am interested myself if anyone has attended one of these...

My behaviors have altered over the years. I doubt I am outgrowing anything, but I have certainly evolved and adapted. I am certainly not an expert on behavior, but if you are self aware, you will modify your interaction with the rest of the world to get by. Ironically, I have noticed that some of my...

good question. i started my own forum, but not because there aren't plenty out there. i just wanted to give back. there are plenty of aspie quizes and other 2.0 communities are growing. 1. i love data and patterns (i suspect you do too). potential research applications? 2. anything you feel like. do...

Hi. =] Photosapian here, introducing myself. I'm eighteen, and a newly diagnosed Aspie. I somehow managed to make it eighteen years, undiagnosed, coping my own ways to things which I thought made me a freak, without bashing my head through the wall. *rimshot* Needless to say, I'm happy for the diag...

very well put. this is my concern, that it would end up like some adult version of that game "telephone" we used to play in third grade. each person relays the message down the line until the last person, who relays it back to the first in a completely different manner.

I was diagnosed with Asperger's as an adult (in my 30's). I passed through childhood, went to school, found work, got married, and started a family, all before diagnosis. I always knew I was different, but never understood why. Since being diagnosed, many, but not all, of the pieces have fallen into...

I am not nor was i ever in the military, but disclosing your dx can negative, depending on the audience. i am in a professional environment and i have never disclosed in the work place. some people are plain ignorant, so i never volunteered the ...
