My apologies, Rascal. I think I confused your response with someone else's. |

Another excellent post, whirlingmind. Thank you. If I had my preference, I'd work things out with my wife, of course. In many ways - and I'm not trying to pass blame - my wife's refusal to even consider counseling, when she knows full well that we have a huge problem, is driving me away. Again, I'm ... |

Rascal, no hurt feelings at all. I truly appreciate your bluntness. My goal, whatever the outcome may be, is to do what's right. My kids are my life, and I'd die before I'd hurt them. |

InThis, you're exactly right concerning the kids. I love them dearly and would never do anything to hurt them intentionally. Even at their young ages, they know how much stress exists in this house, and I believe that harms them as much as a separation would, perhaps even more. My wife expects me to... |

Thank you, Phaeton. You stated that your comment wasn't intended as advice, but I'll take it that way anyway because it's a good cautionary tale. The woman in question has never seen one of my meltdowns (like you, I'm able to contain them at work), but she has done a lot of studying about AS, so she... |

Thank you, whirlingmind, for your response. My wife absolutely refuses to get counseling; she's very self-centered, and I realize how funny that probably sounds coming from an Aspie. I very much want my marriage to work, but after 10 years, it's becoming painfully obvious that it might never. Enter ... |

Okay, here's the thing: I'm a male Aspie, married with kids. I received my dx in 2008, six years into my marriage. To make a long story short, our life together has been a struggle. We argue constantly, and yes, a large part of it has to do with my AS. The stress, anxiety, perfectionism, etc., make ... |

As a true Aspie, I remember exactly where I was, at age 16, when my mom asked me the following: "Are you on drugs?" That was 1988, six years before AS was recognized. |

People always seem to think that I'm mad or upset about something. I do have a temper, but they're usually referring to my facial expression - or lack thereof. I'm just a very matter-of-fact, no-nonsense person. To me, it seems that some (most?) NTs think that if you're not BSing all the time, there... |

I have AS, and my eight-year-old nephew was recently diagnosed with it. My nephew is blessed in many ways because he has an uncle who knows exactly what he's going through (how I wish I could say that when I was younger). I "get" him, and he knows it. I'm the only adult male outside his immediate fa... |

I tend to talk way too much with people I know. With strangers, however, I'll barely acknowledge their existence. It's not so much that I'm being rude; I just don't know what to say or where to start. My family and I go to my brother-in-law's house for holidays, for example. If it's just him and his... |

They literally don't exist. Even if they often appeared outgoing, they would need time to recharge after prolonged socializing. Aka. they are introverted. This is because every aspie, and every introvert (neurotypical or not) has a less developed desensitization, which means that they don't have (a... |

I take Xanax (as needed) for anxiety/sleep. I also take daily Vitamin B6, Super B-complex, fish oil, and magnesium (my Aspie wonder-drug). |
