I'd go for a cat or a dog. They are excellent for company. The best place, in my opinion, to get a cat or a dog from is definitely an animal rescue (or Humane Society, as they are known in America). Just "google" "Humane Society" or "Animal Rescue" + plus your town name and see what they come up with.

Has anyone been to an amish community? The amish lifestyle looks very "aspie-friendly" with all the simplicity, peace and routine. I definitely have an affinity with people who don't conform in life.

What does everyone else think?

Has anybody been watching the new series of "Casualty"? There is a new character on it called "Yuki" who shows a few aspie traits, such as difficulty with communication and fitting in, and he also said that he was comfortable with bacteria, which could indicate a liking of repetitive work. http://ww...

Does anybody like watching cookery programmes? I've got into the Hairy Bikers, they are brilliant. Very entertaining and the food looks really nice. I also enjoy watching Delia Smith and Come Dine with Me, they have some interesting characters on. I am a bit of a foodie! I don't like Jamie Oliver, t...

Anybody watching the programme "Benefit Busters" on Channel 4? I am, its really good. I've been in clubs similar to these and feel exactly the same way as they did in last nights one, as they've done things similar to the "Make a cardboard bus" type of thing. Its just so pointless! It does remind me...

Has anybody here ever been a cub scout, brownie, girl scout, etc? I was in the brownies and I enjoyed it, however, I wasn't that keen on guides. People were not as understanding of AS in those days, it was pretty much the "disability means wheelchair" attitudes in those days. I actually spoke with a...
