thank you for those of you who replied with repsonses that I could use. I take this forum very seriously, as we live in an isolated part of the country where advice about aspergers is neatly packaged by individual, who basically have no idea. And regardless of the negative responses I will always qu...

To Lab_pet Perhaps you have a lot of learning ahead of you &/or compassion to grow. Are you up to the challenge? THINK. Specifically I have found what your post read quite offensive. And to think that you post in the manner that you did and then say perhaps I have a lot of learning ahead of me a...

I don't know why some people seem to have read, or are intentionally trying to find the meaning that i do not like my son. That to me is way off the mark. I think it would make life easier for my son if he could be more engaged when he is speaking. When he talks and no-one listens it hurts him and i...

Ok ok I get the message, after discussion we have decided that looking at the nose is the best method. It's not necessarily about wanting him to be anything other than comfortable and happy and to equip him with the skills to get by in life. I am not bad to him or a bad mother, I'm quite sure about ...

I am really wanting him to make eye contact for politeness as people can tend to overlook what he says or not understand him when he is not looking at them, plus he doesn't swallow in the way i would expect so I have to keep reminding him otherwise it sounds as if he is talking with a mouthful of wa...

I think it is nice pointer for us. As the mother of a ten year old child I can take what I know of his character and take what I have read here and use some common sense. there are certain things that I know my son would not like. and certain things that I know he would be open to.

there is a sticky on the parents forum lower down, which is titled what would have helped me as an aspie child or something like that. I read it and it really helps me to give my son a happier and better life, and it gives me a little more confidence in what I am doing as a parent but there are only...

How do I gain control over my ten year old son, how do I re-establish the mother-son relationship, if I ask him to do something he constantly questions me or argues with me.

I have just been upstairs after my aspie son and his NT friend had got into an argument. Trying to resolve it I asked them what the problem was. His NT friend articulated very well the argument and gave his side of the story, my son however said that he was being bothered by him. I sked him specific...

A bit sad really that he is not properly remembered. It is the end of the day where I am and I have heard nothing about it until now, not on television news, or radio. Maybe I'll start something for next year, I owe alot to him, we owe a lot to him
