have you looked at GRASP? If you live close enough, there are some in person group meetings. Otherwise, there are online support groups. Good luck! |

I like waffles too. And maybe that's where I'm coming from - I intuitively see just as much sense when someone says to me, "I like waffles" as "I like your shirt." I can agree with both. The obligation to reply is what is difficult. I just hadn't seen this in print prior to Carley's book. |

I was reading Michael John Carley's book the other day and came across something on page 179. I have never really seen the need for compliments and consequently I do not take them well. In the past people have commented on this and I've slowly adapted to saying things like "Why thank you very much" ... |

I've had to make sure I maintain eye contact for the appropriate length of time. The average American maintains eye contact an average of 3-5sec (may be different in other countries). I tap my toes (not my foot) to count out the seconds. If I get to five sec, I take a fleeting glance at the wall or ... |

I'm relatively new to the diagnosis of Asperger's. Over the years, I've noticed that some people will eventually lose patience with me socially which of course stands to reason. What I've begun to notice is my own impatience with others when it comes to intellectual function. I do not mean or want t... |

I find I am am able to, in general, not talk to myself when other people are around. I find time in the day (walks in the dark, time by myself "reading" in a private room, etc.) to talk to myself. Instead, I will sing to myself when in public. I've read a few books since diagnosis six months ago and... |

does anyone know someone in the DFW area who will diagnose Asperger's? I'd appreciate any feedback. I'm a few hours away and can't find anyone closer. There's bound to be someone in the Metroplex. |

First time user. When I look at the DSM-4 criteria, I meet all the criteria for Asperger's from Section A. Sections C,D, and E fit as well. I really don't see any of the Section B criteria in me. When I read testimonies from people with Asperger's, however, it seems to fit me to a T. Anyone else lik... |
