Never really been in a situation like that but with such situation, I think you should move out to live on your own if you are able to, doesn't really seem like a good atmosphere to live in. On my side I moved out because I couldn't endure the pressure of my mother to get a job and move out on my ow...

Good advice, although I don't think the alternatives suggested are worth considering. They are worth it for his price range if we stay with 512MB model since except the 9800GT they all benchmark higher. All have better pixel shader (which is what needed for quality graphic setting) then OP model an...

Since need to take care of other thing then checking forum just posting a resume of what I think should be changed for your use. Upgrade video card to one of the model I suggested earlier (Nvidia 9800 GT or GTX+, GTS 250, ATI HD 4850), which are the gaming video card model closest in price to the on...

I would like to say that my funds are limited as I'm a college student and work part time... Guessed that you were limited budget thus why I am a bit against Ichinin suggestion, even through they are good for someone who would not have limited budget. EDIT: For the case I admit my choice would be C...

4 G works but i have that in my old (emphasis on OLD) games box which runs games adequate. Sure he can get the memory sticks later on, but i have discovered that even "identical" memory sticks from the same manufacturer isn't quite as identical as you'd think. Then you end up throwing away the stic...

Well I usually use my computer to browse the internet and play some high end graphic video games. I plan in the long run to use it for online gaming and playing dvds/music on it. I just want to build them and learn how mostly. If you plan on gaming then I would suggest to look for a better video ca...

Some pointers: * For better, overall performance, get some faster memory (DDR3 goes up to 2000Mhz) and more of it. if you can afford and fit 12 GB on your mobo - you wont regret it. * A 2TB disk isn't that expensive. Even if you do not torrent stuff, installing a few games/apps, setting up virtual ...

You can write your C++ in a simple notepad file, through I admit it it is very far from been optimal for reading back the code if you don't have a well organized writing. But I admit didn't have to use that much when I was still studying for had found a Professional Borland C++ builder for like 20 b...
