I love tarantulas! Out of all the spiders they fascinate me the most........I would love to touch their little furry bodies just to know what it feels like.......can you tell me? :?: As far as I know, here in Oz you have to have a special permit for tarantulas as some species are not native to Aust...

my H. lividum is a birdeater from se asia(there are alot of birdeaters!) but is not the Goliath which is definitely NOT endangered as you can buy one online quite easily(and pretty cheap too!) as they are captive bred and have been for some time, you can even find them in pet stores once in a while....

I have seven now..five different genus' ...the females may be more aggro when they have an egg sack but it is more dependent on genus and species as far aa aggression goes...even then individual spiders may vary....one of main will get so pissed that she throws up a threat pose and even attacks the ...

most of the more exotics are found online or through other tarantula keepers...some make into local pet store but pretty rarely!
I am not sure if its aspies that like tarantulas or if tarantula lovers are more likely to be aspie!

I tend to use gibberish and generally make up words as I go along but yes I do it when angry or hurt too...usually with lots of potent mind boggling swearing in 3-4 languages as well......lol at 'squeak' I actually say that too!! ! like when I bump my head or knock into something not hard enuff to h...

I have discovered something maybe some of you have discovered already...while most aspies enjoy animals in general much more than people, I personally have found tarantulas to be a great hobby since they ae not really pets but anti social, bristly and sometimes quite venemous little friends to nurtu...
