$2400/month take home. But, I've been languishing for years at the low end of the pay scale in my industry due to my lack of a degree. I could double my income with a bachelor's degree and have been working on it for 23 years.

Becoming a NASCAR fan has helped. There's so much racing programming on during an average weekend that it keeps me occupied. Also, since I am currently between marriages, the high point of my week is quality time with my deck, usually on weekend evenings, which includes whatever I am currently readi...

Whenever I take Physics, I always get 'A's on all the labs and have had instructors ask me to teach the class how to write up the labs. However, the labs are always only worth 10% of the final grade, the rest coming from the tests, which are all math equations. I have yet to pass Physics in several ...

I've been working on a college degree for 22 years now. The toughest classes have been the required math and science featuring math. The accreditation for a BS in Construction management requires 3 math courses (essentially high school Algebra 1 and 2 and Trig) After failing the Algebra 1 5 times fr...

Get used to being poor until or if you can score a degree. Personally, I've considered it a challenge over the years to try to live as comfortably as possible with less. I've become quite adept at budgeting and finding free or low-cost activities in my city. But yes, it does royally suck to be poor,...

I am now. I was married for 6 years and my ex eventually so complicated my life that it was 24/7 just to keep the two of us alive and fed. Now, I must reprioritize on myself and finally finish the bachelor's degree I've been working on for 20 years. Maybe after I've ironed myself out, I'll be on the...

I am an avid NASCAR fan and a 20-year racing fan. CART/Indycar has let me down too much so I'm now full time Nextel Cup (and F1). Overjoyed that JPM is in the 42 now. Pulling for Mark Martin to win a Cup this year (if he decides to run full time). Watching "Wind Tunnel" right now, as a matter of fact!

I don't consider myself OCD, but, I do have to "prearragne" many things so I won't have to think about them. I need to be a pretty stringent scheduler so that I don't expend the brain power I need at my job thinking about what to eat or what to wear. My wardrobe is pretty monochromaic and I eat abou...

Nope, your not alone. I regularly go through phases of deep depression and worthlessness, and then come out of it and am as normal as can be under the circumstances. However, the older I get without achieving a bachelors degree( and, in turn, respect at my job) the deeper the valleys are getting. If...

What kind of accommodations can be made for math? I've been trying to get a bachelor's degree for 20 years and the required basic math and physics shoot me down every time. (no aptitude for abstraction IE: higher math) I'm on my 5th college now and still struggling . (BTW, I'm a 4.0 if I don't take ...

HOW are you getting a PHD? I've been trying to get a modest Bachelor's degree for 20 years and can't get past higher math. I'm on my 5th college now and I'm still not able to get through the required basic math. How are you doing it? is there an accommodating college out there?

I've had success simply forcing myself to look people in the eye. Of course, it took 38 years to get there, but I'm doing it. I just tell myself I'm making them as uncomfortable as they are making me and I feel like I have the upper hand in a conversation (even if I don't)

Does anyone out there know how a person can get their official paperwork without health insurance? (and no $$$?) I got a "probably Asperger's) diagnosis from a neurologist 6 years ago but want/need to make it official now. However, I don't have any insurance right now and no cash to go back to the n...

It seems that 1 in 3 Americans today has SOME kind of disease, and there seem to be hundreds if not thousands of people/groups/organizations/Government agencies that stand ready to do their all to make life easier for those people. Has anyone here gotten so fed up and frustrated that they wished THE...
