27 chronologically; about 16 or 17 in my head. It was the last time I was able, to a limited extent, to act my age. I certainly haven't "moved on", "taken off" or any other metaphor that applies to my twenty-something peers.

My parents don't treat me like an adult, and most of the time that suits me fine. My Dad (Aspie in denial) and I get on much better when I actually act like a baby (not tantrums or anything just kinda dumb/naive and cutesy). Mum likes bossing us both about and then complaining about it, so it's lose...

Mine have got more painful as time has gone on, probably because my endometriosis has also got worse. 'Bracing' yourself, because you think it might be painful, actually makes it hurt all the more. 'Just relax' says the nurse. Ha. After my last one, I had bleeding for about 3-4 hours and pain for a ...

Ignore whatever they say. The tell say your point as bluntly as possible. Answering a question they should have asked adds icing to the cake as well. Sarcasm rocks. for example with your aunt: Say, "well, my mom just isn't here. I'm doing fine btw. thank you." and for the doctors: "if you don't wan...

Yeh, I don't get why NTs don't just say what they mean and mean what they say. Confuses the hell out of me, and they wonder why I get so upset when I ask for clarification and they don't give it or just keep repeating themselves like I wasn't listening the first time. The other thing I don't get is ...

Yes! I can totally relate to this. I found it really hard at school when we were told to 'get on with your work' in class. By the time I reached secondary school, I was doing double the homework of everyone else because I'd have to most of the lesson work as well. What I hated most was when the teac...

I need some advice about this. I have a major problem sticking up for myself when someone is giving me a hard time or acting inappropriately towards me: my mind goes blank and I literally lose the power of speech. I'm 27 years old so I should be able to do this by now. I was reading another thread o...

Hi, After a fortnight in hospital in May, and blacking-out from pain/exhaustion, the orthopod decided that maybe I wasn't attention-seeking and did an MRI (the initial x-ray hadn't shown anything hence their naive default position). I was told I had a bulging disc and to go home. The ortho wasn't ev...

Ditto all of the above. I think also being a female, women expect a certain level of sympathy/empathy which I'm just not capable of offering.

I totally sympathize with you on this. I have many of the symptoms you both have described, though they vary in severity. I hate to say it but, other than eliminating all those nasties from your diet, the best thing you can do is learn to relax. Much easier said than done, I really do know. I've tri...

One of the main problems I’ve have had with fatigue is getting doctors to take me seriously. Especially being a man. No, doctors will jerk anybody about, given the opportunity. I've come to the conclusion that if you're over 16 and under 40, no relationship and no kids, then you don't stand a chanc...

I had a great dentist, known him since before I had teeth. He retired a couple of years ago; another guy took over his list and he is, in no uncertain terms, quite odd. But you'd have to be a bit weird to spend all day looking at teeth. Doctors are another matter entirely. They've spent my whole adu...

I've been in agony every month since age 12. Would get ovulation pain during the month, then pain and cramping for days before and during period. Also used to feel *really* run down (bad sore throat, headaches, very tired etc.) for at least a week every month. My god, men don't know they're born! An...
