This explains alot. You were an SD for a long time. I retract my apology to you in a previous thread.

I don't think it really matters, none of you know who each other really are either. But that's ok, because what they're saying doesn't make you uncomfortable. I haven't been rude or offensive to anyone, I have been logical and calm and polite at all times. But the information I bring is not what wan...

Hi,

I'm not answering any more questions, there are too many and all the answers can be found in previous posts of mine. But I don't think you guys read before you post anyways, just blindly flail and post.

Well I did say something similar at first (I more explained about the AS diagnosis being quite new and alot of people here would be quite old and have missed the boat for a proper diagnosis), and I think he tried a few more times to post, then I was told to see for myself, and I did, and, well, all ...

Nothing relating to what I am involved in has been published yet, we are just in the early stages and haven't even finshed primary interviews yet. But I'm sure you could find information on something similar somewhere online, there's this thing called 'google', you should check it out, it's good for...

I suppose I should confess, I did not write that post. (Edit: To clarify, it was written by a 16 year old, one of the people who bought this forum to my attention, this is actually his account that he made).

A big fat "HUH?" My agenda? I don't have an agenda! Someone asked my how self-diagnosis hinders advancements in AS, and I answered the question. These answers only partly come from my personal experience, most of it is information I have learned from work. My answer to this question had NOTHING to d...

Actually I am diagnosed HFA. I'm not really worried about peoples perception of me here, just intrigued at the idea that I come across as angry and bitter, it's a little bit funny. If you were me, you might think the same thing! I just don't think I've typed in an aggressive manner, I've been logica...

People who are self-diagnosed can shout just as loudly about their condition, if not louder than people that are actually affected, Alot of these people, the 'fakers' have taken part in AS studies in the past, So, people who are self diagnosed are never actually affected and are fakers :?: Ok, well...

I have said before, and still assert, that if you THINK you have 'mild' AS, then either you don't really have it at all, or you're in denial as to just how you appear to those around you. Good point and made without the bitterness and anger et al of ShogunSalute; Please point out where I was angry ...

Many reasons. When this all started (the 'project' I'm involved in) there was a massive call out for Autistcs of all levels of the spectrum of all genders and ages to participate. The number of people who came forward who were self-diagnosed as Aspergers far outweighed the people who turned up who d...

The 'battle' to have Aspergers officially recognised as a medical condition and fully accepted as part of the Autism spectrum (which at the moment it isn't) and to fight off all the stigmas that have developed over the past 10+ years through this mass diagnosis of the condition by both qualified and...

And I haven't done that either You felt I was talking to you , so you obviously HAD done that. I only got a professional diagnosis because it's required in order to get social security money (for those of us who can't work due to the AS). To me, as I've said it many times on WP, a professional's dx...

I actually came here after this place was bought to my attention by a few of the people I work with (who are on the spectrum) who said alot of what was said here seemed 'wrong'. So I checked it out on the advice of my superiors. It has really opened my eyes to the size of the battle we're really fig...

Ah well my apologies about the mistake about diagnosis and the witch hunt comment too, but you do come across as particularly defensive, perhaps it is because this forum is populated heavily by self-diagnosed people and they are your friends. But it really doesn't change anything I said about self-d...

I am not qualified to diagnose anyone Exactly - and you're not qualified to say who ISN'T AS either. Unless you have evidence about each one of the self-diagnosed people you claim aren't AS and can provide it. And I haven't done that either, I've simply stated the dangers of self-diagnosis and the ...
