Thanks for the replies everyone...Nan, thanks for this post..I think I'll look further into it because like you said maybe it has nothing to do with Autism- we are seeing a GI specialist and we already saw an allergist, maybe it's blood sugar? |

I'm posting a lot of questions tonight...hope you guys don't mind! My child acts so hyper when he's hungry. I think he gets so out of control and silly that sometimes at school he refuses to eat. At home he starts to pace, yell, make sounds, spin, slam doors when he's hungry. Anyone else do that, or... |

I really hope this isn't a new behavior for my son, 4.5...He's having a very stressful year. He has a new baby sister, new teachers...a great thing is he is more verbal, is using some great words to communicate. But now he's doing new things like spitting. Could this be a sign of stress? How can I t... |

Hi, My son is going through an interesting phase right now..he's in preschool and testing the teachers with some non-compliant behavior...such as not taking off coat, not eating lunch, etcetera. When he's doing something that he's supposed to be doing and a teacher says, "Good job." He yells, 'NO!" ... |

I don't want to embarrass my son, 4.5... but he spits and takes his saliva and rubs it all over his face and hair. I have no idea why he does this, though I keep asking him and he doesn't answer. It seems to be around the time that he's hungry or when he has a cold. I've told him not to...I've tried... |

Hi everyone,
I'm taking a little bit of everyone's advice. Thank you... I am keeping my son home from school because he has a cold and will spend a lot of time just playing and taking care of him and just letting him rest. Thanks again!

Thanks so much everyone for your informative replies. I'm very interested, Tracker, in your post about Autistic Catatonia. Even though my son is very little, he could be showing some signs of this. I know he has some anxiety...he also freezes before getting on the bus, he just goes "limp" and we hav... |

Hi everyone, Thanks for the "welcome". Just to clarify a little as my post was kind of vague....My son has been diagnosed with Autism and has been in school for more than a year. He has services through the school such as OT, PT, and Speech. He has done very well but now showing signs of not doing a... |

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a simple social story for my son in preschool. He is having a hard time listening to teachers and then wondering why everyone gets very serious. He gets upset when he is removed from class. I think a simple story might explain things better for him. A... |

Hi Everyone, I first want to say what an amazing website this is. So many people have really great ideas and information. My son is 4 1/2 - He is the sweetest, loving little boy. He has a sense of humor and can get a little too hyper sometimes. He makes loud noises and runs around or just laughs and... |
