I do think there has to be more to changing people's attitudes than changing the terms we use to describe autism, though. Once upon a time, "ret*d" was a polite euphemism, but because people's attitudes towards mental retardation never changed, it became a playground insult, just like whatever prec... |

An Introduction to Anthropology 2nd Edition by Ralph L. Beals and Harry Hoijer It is terribly out of date (it was published before the discovery of radio-carbon dating for crying out loud) but nonetheless is very interesting as it let's me compare how our knowledge of anthropology has changed over t... |

So, I know that autistics are not usually good at making friends. I know that I personally am not. But I have gotten pretty lucky by obtaining friends by accident. For instance, in kindergarten, I got a friend because I was sitting in the corner of the playground reciting my favorite book to myself ... |

But their seemingly out of place smiling does annoy me. |

I work at a supermarket. One of my jobs is a lot person, where I go out and collect carts the people leave behind after they're done shopping. One of the rules of the company is that I can't push more then 5 carts at a time (this is to prevent back injury or something). This is fine when you have 2... |

I play with my juggling sticks when i have them on me. It's a pretty awesome way to stim and it has even gotten me some money (from tips on the street) in the past. When I don't have my sticks I will generally fiddle with things. I flip a silver dollar around and around in my hand, I twiddle my poin... |

All the time, but I try to cut back when there are people nearby. Not that I care if they think I'm crazy, it's just that it is slightly easier than having to tell them "No, I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to myself." |

When I was a kid, I couldn't stand the texture of any sort of pasta. I would literally gag on it. I eventually became able to tolerate it but I still don't like it and will only eat it if I really have to. |

I just saw this movie-film last week, I really enjoyed it. Real top notch humour there, but also very unusual and creative. |

I work as a grocery bagger. I would not reccomend it. As a matter of fact, jobs where you have to interract with a large ammount of people would probably be a bad fit. I only keep from getting fired probably because I work on weekends and can recover over the week. I'm thinking of transfering to nig... |

Did I do that right?
yep
d/dx(-4x(sin(x^2))-8x(sin(x^2))-8(x^3)(cos(x^2))
=-4sin(x^2)-8(x^2)cos(x^2)-8sin(x^2)-16(x^2)(cos(x^2))-24(x^2)(cos(x^2))+16(x^4)(sin(x^2))
=-12sin(x^2)-48(x^2)cos(x^2)+16(x^4)sin(x^2) |
