I think it's not that NT's don't understand your special interest, it's just general bigotry. In high school I've had a perfectly NT friend who, being perfectly normal in all other aspects, was WAY into dinosaurs - he was teased and attacked for it exactly the same way any aspie would. |

In the UK, I'm doing A-levels (UK pre-university qualification - usually people do 3 or 4) in Maths and Further Maths (both to A2). Normal Maths isn't that challenging, but Further Maths goes into topics that will be most likely met in first year university level mathematics. However most UK univer... |

The Founding Fathers weren't perfect, but they had a very deep understanding of many political models and how they have succeeded and failed in history. What they produced was brilliant, and what we are doing to it today is the foolishness and ignorance. As I said: they were brilliant for their tim... |

Right.... so "conservative" isn't an essence. The issue is that this undercuts your previous notion of "essential conservatism being stupid", as essential conservatives are already denied What's 'essence'? You can't say a person has an 'essence' and this 'essence' is something. It is always up to c... |

You think I am damaged from my childhood? I actually don't hold grudges and I look back and see what a good mother I had and she did me a big favor. She taught me how to follow rules, show respect, behave in public, etc. That is exactly what I would call "damaged from one's childhood". I would say ... |

It sounds like you're not speaking for what conservatism means in the America's - its the force that usually prefers some semblance of tradition, in an informed pick and choose manner, as opposed to American progressivism which doesn't sound like 'liberalism' by your definition (which sounds very l... |

That is true. That's why the best governors are those that don't even try to govern. |

Um.... ok? The issue is that conservativism isn't something that one has to be consistent about anyway, but rather one takes a pattern that is described as conservative, that can itself also suggest non-conservative directions for change. I mean, most people that are considered "conservative" don't... |

The Founding Fathers of the United States who constructed the Constitution were among the most brilliant people of their time. That is probably true. But it was "of their time", the 18th century and around. What was brilliant back than is either bloody obvious or completely stupid now in the 21st. ... |

Let's rather make an Aspie Separatist Movement. With special zones, torch parades and stuff. |

Umm.... even if we granted that conservatives prefer tried and tested ways, it still does not follow that they are stupid. One can be intelligent and lack faith in our understanding of social realities, our ability to effectively change them in the desired manners, and instead believe more in the i... |

No, I'd say there are two distinctly different outlooks on the world. Liberals and conservatives are currently odds on many things but the most salient two - economics and culture. On economics, many liberals have a belief in creating an egalitarian society by legal means and that egalitarianism th... |

Sorry to hear that. I just hope you did come over your childhood experience in time to prevent it affecting next generations. |
