I do this too. Currently I am obsessing over the psychologist that diagnosed my AS. Most likely I will never see him again, but I can't stop thinking about him. I don't know if it's a crush or what, because I am in a relationship with a female partner so it doesn't make sense to me. I hope it goes a... |

Hi there. I am a Moog fan too. I love vintage synths. We don't live far apart either---I am in southern Ohio. Here are the Moogs I have: Polymoog with Polypedals Rogue Opus 3 If you want to talk Moogs, I am here :D. That's exciting! Do you know how to play? When I get some extra money, I plan to sh... |

Right now, I'm getting back into an old "obsession". The Moog synthesizer. I can't play, but I've been listening to some moog records and reading about the history of the moog. |

Wow, I can't believe that there are so many people out there who feel the same (or similar) to me about certain sounds etc! For as long as I can remember I've had an intense rage (usually internal) against people who make sounds while eating and drinking. Its not only the initial crunch but more th... |

I hate the phrase "that being said".
I've heard that way too many times lately and it really bugs me. |

My main interest is yarn, I like to spin it, dye it, and knit. Sometimes I get obsessed with other crafty things, but then drop them and go back to knitting. A few months ago I became obsessed with sewing. I bought a sewing machine, tons of fabric, books, took a class and made about 2 things. Then I... |

I'm 37 and I have never had the "maternal instinct". I have difficulty even being around children, let alone having them. |

I can't really take credit for the awareness, my partner was nice enough to point it out to me later. |

I usually avoid social situations if at all possible. However, there always seems to be something that I feel obligated to attend. For example, a coworker's birthday, going away party, baby shower, etc. If I go, it's so awkward, and I can't wait to leave. I usually don't say anything, then all I hea... |

Thanks everyone, this is great feedback. Concerning # 3 on my list, I did it again last night. My significant other's friends came over and somehow the subject of cats came up. I went on and on, probably boring everyone to death. But at dinner, I don't think I said a single word. I could not think o... |

It has been a relief to find this forum and find others who think like me. Just to clarify, the "conversations in my head" aren't like hearing voices but more like I am "scripting" potential conversations. I suppose I'll get used to the diagnosis sooner or later and move on to something else to thin... |

I've just recently been diagnosed and now AS has become my new "obsession". All I've been doing is reading, talking, and thinking about it. I'm finding that I keep analyzing everything I do and everything I think. Is this common? Here are the things I've been wondering about: 1. Certain things annoy... |

But if you have the inflexibility, the sensory issues, the stimming, troubles with reading people, problems with empathy, then you really do have it.
I have all of the above. Plus the more I read on the forums, the more I'm convinced. |

Hi, I'm new here. I just got an official diagnosis of AS yesterday. I'm wondering if I should get a 2nd opinion or just accept it. I'm 37, I work as a clinical research specialist. My 17 year old brother has Asperger's, so it is in the family. I have social anxiety. I really only have 1 friend that ... |
