Thanks so much everyone for your replies. I kind of knew from my severely autistic son that the singing is a stim but my daughter has gone through a particularly difficult time recently and the singing has increased tenfold, so I guess it's her way of self calming. I did bring it up with her yesterd...

My teenage daughter is highly verbal and sings mostly ALL of the time! To be honest it drives me nuts sometimes :? The singing can go on for most of the day. When she was little she had very fast bizarre language, almost like she couldnt get her words out fast enough. Is this a sign of some sort of ...

Interesting thread. My husband of 24 years (undiagnosed) is a loud aspie, but kind of wouldnt say loud more like a running commentary on what he is doing at the time, where he is going (yes even to the loo)! and when there is a topic of interest will talk non stop. I think alot of this is adrenaline...

I know this is an old post but typed in PCOS Aspergers into Google as I did participate in some research here in the UK about this particular area a couple of years ago and it has just come to light again by my son's pscyhiatrist who is currently helping us to get our daughter assessed for Aspergers...

Hi MotherKnowsBest, I am so pleased to hear that your daughter took it all very well and took it on board what you had prepared for her. I had no idea it would take that long to get a proper assessment going- are you in the UK? If you are I am guessing this is on the NHS. We are now waiting to hear ...

Hi, well our situation is opposite to yours tweena! I myself have Bipolar type II disorder and my husband has AS (undiagnosed) and it sounds like my illness is not as severe as your partners is. BUT, I totally understand how very frustrated and hurt you must feel as my husband says to me at times. M...

Hi, this question may have been asked before but I am wondering how old you were when you received your diagnosis of AS? My daughter is nearly 16 and I want to get her assessed, but at the same time she is in complete denial (her 13 yr old brother has moderate/severe autism) and my husband has trait...

Thanks ever so much for your advice motherknowsbest. I will take a look at that book. How old was your daughter when she got a diagnosis? Was she accepting of the diagnosis and complying with going for an assessment as I think this will be the biggest hurdle to get over with my daughter.

Hi DW - thanks for your reply. There is no way I want to hurt my daughter by going behind her back but at the same time she is so deep in denial it will only take an expert to bring her out of that and that could take some time. Have you heard of the 3DI test (not sure if this is the correct name) f...
