87%. Those that I got wrong were due to the language used in the questions. Question 12, for example, "up before the beak," I did not understand.

I have a very good sense of direction. Given a map, or a basic knowledge of an area, I can usually get where I want to go without any problems. What I can't stand is people giving me verbal directions. Last week I had to go and meet a colleague, and I said "I've got a map in front of me, just give m...

I had one last week. I was in a nice quiet pub, just relaxing, and they decided to turn the background music up to almost nightclub levels - naturally that didn't go well for me, and I went outside. My friend's response: "I know you have AS, but you just need to chill a bit!" As if the word 'chill' ...

One explanation that I've been given relates specifically to friends within your own age group. I don't suppose that is relevant in terms of an adult diagnosis. For example, throughout school I had very few or no friends in my own year, but had a few that were two years below me, and could talk to s...

That sounds like an excellent idea. Being the cynic of cynics, I'm seeing the new act as empty until the Autism Strategy is published, and I think we'll have to see what happens there.

Can I ask what NHS region you're in?

"Common sense" to me - in the expression "use your common sense" at least - means "I want something done my way but I'm not about to explain what my way is." I think what they mean when they say Aspies (actually it's autistic people in general) is that we don't use past experience the way other peop...

Nothing positive has "happened to me" in the last 5 years at least. I did finish repairing my van today though. My dad said I couldn't do it, and it did take almost 20 hours compared to the half an hour or less that a garage would have taken to do it, but I finished - so that's something positive th...

I chose 2-3 hours in the poll, which is probably average for me. Sometimes, depending on mood, I can fall asleep in half an hour or so, and sometimes it's well over three hours. I'll have to try the idea that Oculus mentioned. Recently though, I've found that I've been getting to sleep fairly quickl...

Always have done. I tried that foul-tasting paint when I was young, and I really hated it but got used to it within a week and didn't care any more! I'm pretty sure my mum gave up on me at that point and threw the rest away!

I always sleep with the fan on, as the sound of that doesn't bother me but does help to make 'external' noises less intrusive. Earplugs don't really work for me, since although the ones I have now aren't uncomfortable, my hearing just becomes hypersensitive after a few minutes of wearing them.

I'm not sure about playing in the sink, but my mum recently reminded me that I used to love washing the dishes - no idea why though! Nowadays I hate washing up, mainly because the height of the sink is nasty with my back injury.

I talk to myself a lot. If I'm in a small group of people, I'm able to stop, but if, for example, I'm walking down a busy street, I really couldn't care less what other people think  I read something somewhere, at some point, which suggested that talking to one's self helps the right and left b...

That sounds familiar :(

I wouldn't say I had "anger issues," I just had lots of reason to be angry!
