I'm in Perth, 25 yo, would love to meet anyone who would love to meet me!

I'm a bit of a creative type...not just because I like 'alternative' music and have tried my hand at writing a lousy generic song, but because I feel the compulsion to create like I need to breathe air.

Most aspies are nerdy in some way, but not all do well in school/uni. I hung out in the nerdy group and quite a few were diagnosed with AS. I wonder if most nerds have latent AS traits but not enough to really place them on the spectrum.

I get revengeful feelings in the heat of the moment. But it never lasts very long, and I don't act on it. I also think those things, like death row, and wrong. I mean, you're taking someone's life . It's not your place. I'm a Christian, and I'll be blunt. I believe if that person is not a Christian...

"ruffled into the air by an agitator." Yes that makes sense, I never thought of that. :) I had my own theory but wondered how they stopped them sticking together. "The class loved the Fairy Bread. (They are 8 and 9 years old.)" I don't know any one here who doesn't like Fairy Bread, even us "adults...

there are many types of questions i will never know the answer to. they mostly are trivial. when i was driving through the city yesterday, i was looking at a 70 storey building and i wondered how many tonnes it weighed. i started to calculate how much it might weigh, but it is too much effort consi...

I questions like, 'what percentage of the population of Britain have blue eyes?' really fascinated, so much so that I will research the answer. The answer, in case you're wondering, is about 40%, lol (just under half have 'light' eyes).

I think people on this site find it funny and therapeutic that these seemingly untouchable people can be affected daily, just like us. I doubt it's "fashionable" as you say. Maybe, but these days they're so quick to diagnose people with this or that. I do like to see the human side of these 'untouc...

I spoke with a friend of mine, and she actually said she finds it annoying when old school friends contact her on facebook. Agreed in that, although the concept of FB is great, and works well for many, it can be exclusionary and especially for Aspies. I do not appreciate that FB states, "So-and-so ...

Doc says I've got Generalized Anxiety Disorder, traces of OCD (which I surmised myself too) and probably some form of socio-phobia. I think these were at least partly responsible and may be related to my AS.

It seems fashionable to diagnose stars with something or other these days. If you believe them, most of the old Hollywood stars were gay or bisexual, and most of the great scientists had Asperger's (I think quite a few did, mind you). I'm not sure how you got to thinking Robin has Aspergers. But I t...

I think there is something in movement, behaviour or stance that can trigger people that recognize it. In my volunteer work I worked a lot with autistic children and people (a bit ironic for an Aspie). Now when I stand before a group with supposedly 'normal children', I can pick out certain childre...

It;s not just facebook, though. While we were in school there were two or three girls that I did confide in. And one of them comes to town and doesn't even contact me, the others rarely talk to me. It was like while we were engaging in my special interest, while we were at school, I could have frie...

It would be a real shame if no one on the Spectrum ever made advancements in their coping skills. Your neurological make-up hasn't changed into NT territory; your ASD wired brain has made appropriate adjustments. Interesting you say that, matrix. I've felt alot of the socialising has come naturally...

I think it depends where one draws the line as far as what the spectrum is. Some people use it to only mean those with a diagnosis, or who qualify for a diagnosis. Personally, I think it includes those of us who definitely have traits, even if we don't have enough to qualify for a diagnosis. And th...
