Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Does anyone else feel like they don't relate to most Aspies?

I almost consider myself in a class of my own. I tend to have "Aspie superiority" and get annoyed when other Aspies, "nerds" or others in my groups of interest behave like NTs (ie. drinking, dating, partying, etc). It boggles me that people I think will never behave like that win...

It's got a lot of holes I know. Although I am interested to know if there are other forums on the Internet where this might be better discussed? I'd love to get into a deeper discussion with someone about it.

DNA is trying to kill us. There, I said it. Here's why: Yes humans are animals but I think that since we have such advanced souls, we must be something else. I understand that dogs, dolphins, parrots and any other animal you can think of have souls but it's just that ours are better. Do they worship...

Anyone else here a plushophile? I've recently gotten into this with plush characters of a certain TV show I love dearly. I not only mod them slightly for use with masturbator sleeves but I also take them to bed with me and talk to them (I tell them about my day, how beautiful they are and how much I...

Do you thirst for justice? Feel like you need to tell people when they do wrong? Well I do and I have had mixed results with it. My AS has caused me to say some things to people that I probably shouldn't have (almost got beat up more than a few times). I have gotten much better over the years, learn...

By the way, I'm thinking about somehow making this into a story.

You know, I was wondering if our community might be divided along certain lines (I'm not just talking about Aspies on this forum but also elsewhere and I also include any socially-awkward "nerd" or "geek" cultures). It seems to me (based partly on responses to certain threads) that some folks tend t...

I have often heard from books, TV, movies, etc that some women are attracted to the "dark mysterious loner" type. Is there any truth to that at all? Are women really curious about that or are they just creeped out IRL? I ask because I seem to fit this bill as I rarely talk to anyone unless spoken to...

Well this is my thread! I don't really know what to say except that I'm 35 and still live with my mother. This is partly due to the economy and family issues. She had a stroke last year and is doing great but it was a close one (if you know what I mean). The thing is though, she will never be able ...

Anyone of you happen to remember (or even have) 1982's Grover Goes to School storybook? For those not familiar with it, Grover (of Sesame Street) is going to his first day of school but is nervous and shy about it. He wants to make friends but some of his classmates ask to trade things with him (lik...

Okay so I've had an idea for a story series for quite a few years now (I think I made a post about something related last year). It's changed a lot over the years and finally got somewhere that I beleive makes more sense. Basically it is a religious sci-fi fantasy series that I am calling "Immaculat...

I would find myself watching Max and Ruby mostly because I loved that sly look Max gets when he gets a naughty idea. Other than that I am strongly considering checking out Bubble Guppies because I think I'm in love with Molly, she's adorable!

So I just recently started to watch this show and I cannot beleive I haven't watched it before. It is frikkin' gold. Before I watched it I thought it was just going to be this silly show with all sorts of weird characters and animations but I was floored by how clever and hilarious it is. I love how...
