I know this thread was started awhile ago however, if you're still around and having issues then here's my 2 cents: You can't force other people to change. However, approach determines response. If you would like your wife to be more perceptive of your needs or more spontaneously affectionate then l... |

Redrobin62: Thank you for the reply! They were here back in December for Christmas and it was similar to what you described (hence all the preparation and rearranging this time around). Behavior wise things are better now than they were in December (mostly from me laying down the law this time aroun... |

My sister-in-law and her husband recently moved here from out of state. They have a two year old daughter. They were staying with other family in the area however, that didn't work out. Currently they're staying with my husband and I until the 1st (they have signed a lease for their own place but it... |

I view hygiene and grooming as a sort of "as needed" basis. If I need a shower then I take a shower. If the legs are getting fuzzy then I shave them, etc etc... it's just not something I particularly enjoy doing and nothing I do on any sort of predictable or ritualistic schedule (ie. I don't shower ... |

That Autism is a spectrum. That people with Autism in any form are not "empty shells" "spiritless" "not there" etc. Just because you can't see "the light" doesn't mean that it isn't on. Everyone's experiance is differant, and it can be really offensive to make sweeping genralizations about people wh... |

Thanks guys. :D I got into it with someone on a forum for my local community. It really bothered me because no matter how many times I pointed out to the person that what they were saying and implying was offensive the more they attacked me. I just don't understand how someone can be so unaccepting ... |

When someone says something horrifically close minded and incorrect about Autism it grates my nerves to no end. I can't help but take it personally. I can't help but feel bad for these people's kids. "it is EXACTLY like the lights go out. They stop talking, stop interact, stop smiling, stop LIVING i... |

If I were to type out a full resume with all my work history it would be about as thick as the phone book... and i'm only 23. But in my own defense i've never been fired but i'm one of those as*holes who'll quite after less than 90 days because i'm "not being challenged enough" or because of "schedu... |

Not to be off topic but this reminds me of my 21st birthday. Of course I was drunk but my husband and I went to Denny's and I got upset because I could hear everyone else's conversations in detail and couldn't shut them out... I heard everything, absolutely everything simultaneously. My husband didn... |

Yeah I do this all the time much to the amusement of my peers. It gets worse when I'm upset. The other things I'll do is that if I'm multitasking, like checking my email and talking to someone then I'll end up replacing words in a sentence with words I'm thinking or reading that don't fit into the s... |

Quick question- why is it that this kid having autism was a more important detail to mention rather than why he stabbed a security guard in the first place? I don't see how autism is even relevant to this story without that bit of information. |

I have no idea but I have a similar situation. I tend to get along better with men than I do with other woman. Which sucks because my husband is in the army... and i've been informed that "people talk"... so basically if I'm seen talking to a man and my husband is nowhere in sight then the neighbor... |

I do like Chowder and Flapjack, and the Garfield Show is good (but not as good as Garfield and Friends, though). I like chowder and flapjack aswell. At the very least Chowder has really interesting animation and flapjack is just adorable. I've seen afew episodes of the Garfield show, and yeah I lik... |

My husband had a friend like this. I couldn't stand the guy. Liars tend to agrivate me. Finnally I got to the point where I just screamed at the guy "Stop lying about all the cool stuff you've never done and actually go do something with your life." Last I heard he joined the Army... so hopefully he... |
