Hey guys. I have an update since I made the original post a few months ago. I ended up getting in the door at that station after all. They needed another person. But, I still felt isolated and out of place there. Fast forward to the end of February. One of the stations where I did my first internshi...

I have some good news. A second position opened up at the sister station. I am so happy. It's not at the place I wanted but, because I applied at the right time and there were two of us who applied, they had to go with me. Now, the position is not paid and it is a test run so, hopefully I won't scre...

Thank you all for responding. I still feel that my dream is not within reach. You all brought up some great points though. But, I feel that the system has not been able to help somebody like me. I have no money to seek out help for my mental health. Therefore, I feel that things will not get better....

I have posted on the Haven many times before. Sometimes, I have received encouragement. Most times, I have not. I am doing this post to vent more than anything. Today, I went for a job interview. I am going to school for Radio. It's kind of ironic, isn't it? Someone who has horrible social skills wa...

The eighties is one of my favourite decades for music. I used to hate 80's music until about high school when I fell in love with 80's Alternative music.

Can't Find My Way Home by Blind Faith (1969) One of the saddest songs I have ever heard. I know Steve Winwood wrote it about a friend who was addicted to drugs but, I can relate to the lyrics in the song so much. To me, they also speak to...

I have never been told that I was ugly to my face but, I have felt that vibe from girls I find attractive. I've been called "cute" or "a gentleman" many times but never "hot" or "sexy". I feel that because I have Asperger's, I feel and appear more ugly to the opposite sex and once I tell girls that ...

@greatsharkbite Your advise really helped. My mind is clear now. I think what upset me the most is that she was putting her life on display on fb and twitter. But, I'm over that now. I just have to think about the good things and realize that there is hope after all. I have to work on my depression ...

Thanks for the response but you guys don't get what I am saying at all. I don't care who she dates (I don't really know her). All that this does is it makes me realize that I cannot get a good looking girl if I tried.

I struggle with love and dating on a daily basis. I actually get more depressed over dating and not being in a relationship than social situations. I feel that my looks and my AS turns girls away. They cannot see me as a potential partner because I look "weird" and I'm "different". The only girls I ...

Hello WPers. I have not been here for awhile. I might as well bring you up to speed. I am now at school doing Radio and Television Arts and loving it. I have told my faculty and classmates that I have AS and they have all been very supportive. I am getting a new diagnosis and I am working with a the...

Hello fellow Wrong Planet Members, I thought I would share this in the haven as I find it is a good place to share feelings. I am very nervous and bothered right now about my future. I am moving away from home for the first time in about five months. I am also starting a two year radio and televisio...

I just finished watching the film "The Social Network". I thought it was well made but I have some issues with it. Zuckerberg is portrayed as someone who is socially akward. I have heard Temple Grandin say in an interview that if this film and the book it is based on are truth (which many say it is ...

I was bullied in Elementary School and half-way through Middle School. After that, people either ignored me or were friends with me. I was teased by a few people in High School but it was not nearly as bad as Elementary School.
