I'm managing a team of four right now. I was hired to be a technical writer, and then everyone thought I was so great that I was given the largest team in the department. It's just a lot of humanity in my face. The one who does terrible work, is very arrogant and hates being supervised by someone he...

No. IME, 30's is a great time to be single for women... you still have your looks (if you had any to begin with), you're more experienced and confident and your dating pool, if you're open-minded enough to date younger or older, is still nice and big. I have experienced a harder time finding women f...

My college classmates assuming a bureaucratic mistake had been made when it was announced I was graduating a year early magna cum laude; strangers talking to me in a loud, condescending voice like I'm a child. All ...

Looking back at my school years, I was one odd duck and the same disconnect coming from, say a guy who was not good-looking, would probably have resulted in bullying and ostracism. With me, being known as a pretty gir...

My supersonic ability to read other people - I have a reputation for it, everyone marvels at my "psychic powers" - is the one thing that kept me from believing I was Aspie for a long time. I was told one of the main traits was socially blundering through missed cues of other people's feelings and re...
