I've been to three different psychiatrists, and none of them bothered to ask many questions. I wonder why this is? Two of the three have good reputations. |

No, but I sleep with a silky blanket thing. I've had it since I was two and I'm an adult now. Don't think I'll ever get rid of it - why should I? Feeling the fabric helps me get to sleep. During the day it makes me feel better if I'm feeling uncomfortable. |

111chukybabu are you sure that was mariuana cause even some of the finest kinds of weed in holland wont do that to you Yes. Maybe I should have been more clear: it wasn't a hallucination, but an irrational belief my brain clung onto after having a really bad "wh***y". I was really afraid I was deve... |

I have a problem. If something is causing me to overload I still maintain a compulsion to carry on with the activity. I don't know how to "switch off". I feel like I'm lacking a natural drive to disengage from something that causes me harm. Anyone else have this? |

How can someone even make an estimation that one is "x"% autistic anyway? It doesn't really work like that. Unless you're going by an AQ score or something. |

Oh, I LOVE angering others on the Internet! It gives me a thrill that I just cannot experience in real life. It makes me ROFL when I cause someone to throw curses at me or argue with me because of what I say to them! I also like to be a total a-hole on Xbox Live by playing cheaply in games and yell... |

But if I just did it to someone, I would get no enjoyment out of it at all. There has to be something in the activity that that makes it pleasurable for these people. |

There's something I come across a lot, especially on the internet: people deriving pleasure from upsetting and/or angering someone. I can't wrap my head around it. How do they get enjoyment out of this? Do they have to be angry beforehand to enjoy it? I don't think they are sadists because I see it ... |

My nephew is very aggressHe's ok for a bit, but he then blows up and Hulk Smashes everything due to frustration. This describes what I experience very well. I think part of the AS profile is having defective or differently working amygdala, resulting in extremes in emotionality. I have little "pet ... |

I love The Simpsons but can't watch anything beyond Season 8 because that is when the quality starts to deteriorate. |

If you're prone to gullibility then you should be careful. I tried marijuana in my mid-teens and suffered psychologically for a year afterwards. I would believe all sorts of irrational things that popped up in my head, including that I had actually died in my sleep and I was living in a false reality. |

It was implied in my diagnosis that my ability to write imaginatively as a child at school was a point against having aspergers. Is this unfair? |

What does this mean exactly? When I was diagnosed (I'm from the UK) this was a category, along with "Impairment of Social Skills". What does imagination have to do with aspergers?
edit: in fact the other category is actually "Impairment in Social Interaction". |
