Assembler...

Even though it's the hardest to work with, I still like it. It's really obvious what's supposed to happen...

When I first started, the CLI was all you used! (MS-DOS 5.0). I've been using the CLI for awhile - but Windows makes it unnecessary to use the CLI in day-to-day tasks. Modern linux distros don't require the CLI for much, either - unless you're adminning a server, or compiling software/installing har...

but my mom's lesbian, so I got a lot of experience in the "typical" gay/lesbian traits. I can normally confirm it with some body language stuff - there's some interactions that gays have that straights don't catch on to, and I can recognize those pretty well (from familiarity). It's hard to explain ...

Heh - I can drive just about everything on the road except for road trains and motorcycles. Funny thing is - I can handle long (multi-day) trips in a car, no problem, but go stir-crazy driving anything larger than a van more than a couple of hours - to the point of having to stop at rest areas and r...

Always have - even when I was 10 or 11, my sleep cycle would shift all summer to "stay up 'till 3 AM, sleep 'till noon". I hate mornings, can't get up to save my life, and am groggy for hours. And need too much caffeine to stay alert (on first shift for the forseeable future). I've always gotten alo...

Gawd - feels like Slashdot in here with all the same, old, tired Windows/Linux kvetching. Windows is Windows - it is fantastic for writing huge, interconnected software packages. It's familiar, but it can be a stone b***h to optimize code for it. Linux is Linux - the wall between processes is much h...

Mack truck.

Ugly as sin, built like a tank, strong like a bull, and absolutely no frippery or nonsense.

Plus, it's multi-talented - just not fun on long trips. Harsh suspension, no creature comforts. Expensive to maintain - not a lot of people can work on 'em well :)

I'm 28, had never heard of Asperger's until my mom read something about it, recognized me in the article (not by name, just by behavior) and sent me looking for the info. Haven't seen a professional to wrap up the diagnosis - but since I don't have to prove it to anyone for benefits or exculpatory e...

Used to leave one tab on Google News. Stopped that when *something* on the Google News site caused a hellacious memory leak, ate my 1 GB of RAM and 700 MB of swap in about 4 hours. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of other choices in Linux - Mozilla is even more bloated, and Konquerer is useless f...
