Sensory issues and my APD both frustrate me equally, anxiety, depression and social ineptness are the unfortunate and frequent byproducts.

When I was younger migraines were a weekly occurance, but since I've stopped eating red meat I'm down to one a month. The smell of mince meat frying in a pan can trigger an attack and weather changes. I always have trouble speaking just before the pain of the migraine hits, my sentences become jumbl...

Thinking and picturing a cat mean the same thing to me too.

Thanks for both of your replies.

All I was told about the process was that it may take a couple of weeks, at least I now know what I can expect, so thank you very much!

I've just got word that I've been awarded funding to be tested for Aspergers ( yay!) . Originally I was going to be referred to the Maudsley Hospital in London and now I'm going to some place closer to home, in Woking. I haven't the foggiest idea what to expect, any adults who've been tested in the ...

I was abused growing up, I was thrown through walls, beaten unconscious over a missing brussel sprout or something equally trivial like a Diana Ross CD missing from it's case ( which my father hid btw) , kicked down the stairs, kicked up the stairs, on and on. The physical stuff was daily, if it was...

Can't eat anything with chunks, so all my sauces and soups have to be blitz. Can't stand peppers, tis like chewing a cats tongue, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers are far to slimmy, biting into a baby cob sends shivers down my spine. I'm really funny with meat, if I chew and find any grissle the whole me...

I was diagnosed with disassociation as a kid, whenever I was exposed to a situation that had the potential to cause me distress, I would disassociate. It's like switching into 3rd person mode in a game, you experience your enviroment away from your physical self, your switched off emotionally and to...

My IQ was tested at 14, I scored 158. I'm rubbish at mathematics. I'm not really good at anything, unless I become intently interested in a subject, and even then it's a very narrow interest (newts). The one thing I'm exceptionally good at is drawing and painting, and I hate drawing and art related ...

I've made my mother cry on multiple ocassions, one time was because I couldn't empathize with how she was feeling. The other times was because I wasn't dressing or behaving in a manor that befits a young girl my age. She was worried how I would be prejudged on appearance alone and that I was sending...

I can only make appointments, and even then I have to write a script. Most of my important calls that require me to converse fluidly with another, I leave to my mum or someone else close. I detest talking on the phone, perhaps it's because I can't watch their lips form the words. But yeah, phones ar...
