Like aaronzx said I would advise caution. There was I time in my life that if I had been told that I was on the autism spectrum I would have commited suicide. Looking back at A stay on a pych ward I now feel That if it had been suspected they knew it would not have helped, who knows, it was a small ... |

I just came home after picking up another refill of Citalopram. I have been on it for over a decade, I find if I go with out it for four or five days I start to feel funny. My head sort of tingles or something and the world does not seem right. I for one am glad this drug exists. I would have stood ... |

I did not know that derealization was comorbid with ASD.
It is quite the feeling, some what comforting to know it is not something I
am doing wrong, it is just in my wiring, and not my fault! |

It must have been about when I was 46.
It was quite a time. Things started when someone
suggested dyslexia, that was when I asked
if dyslexia was why I do not make eye contact.
It was a lot to take in, in a short time |

I came across a study again that I read sometime ago, about having
almost twice the odds of being on the spectrum if your mothers father
was over fifty, when your mother was born.
How many here had older grandfathers on your moms side?
My moms dad was 50 when mom was born. |

The only thing that keeps me going is the pursuit of knowledge. I don't think anything in the universe is for not. Collecting and transferring of information is one thing humans do really well. Also it seems as if the act of just looking at things, like in the double slit experiment can change what ... |

I use to ride off-road bikes, four stroke Hondas. I kind of like the lower pitched sound they make, did not like the sound of the YZ Yamaha. I hate high pitched sounds. I sure liked the sound of straight piped v8 powered dirt track cars I raced in the late seventies.(sb chevs 283s) I think wearing a... |

Depeneding on how the car is insured you could
be doing somebody a favor.
We had cars in the shop where every last panel
had been keyed.
An entire paint job for the prise of the deductable.
Same thing with windsheilds too. |

Like others here, Cars. I have owned a great many cars and trucks, my mother encouraged me, she somehow knew that I needed a focus or a retreat. It is hard to explain the feeling I get when I see a model A or other old cars, I think if a person needs to ask why the passion they will never understand... |

I use to think about it all the time,in the past I lived quite recklesly. Doing things like riding my dirt bike too fast and basicaly being stupid hopeing something would go right/wrong? I think if it was not wanting to hurt my mother I would be gone. I spent a week in the psyic ward when I was feel... |

I have also have read that ambidexterity and Schizophrenia are related (thanks for the reminder iratherbeatree) I have no doubts about this, I believe this is why Cannabis was reclassified in the UK. I know that in the past when I smoked it (twice in total) that the effects mimicked Schizophrenia an... |

I'am also ambidextrous. The only other person who I
have met in person who said they were ambidextrous
was another aspie who I met at a support group. I have looked at
studies on fetal testosterone, this seems to make some sense
there seems to be a connection with this and dyslexia too. |

I feel the same as most of what has been said.
When I was a kid looking in peoples eyes would
some times give the uncontrolable need to laugh.
I also find it down right ceepy to look into some peoples eyes. |
