If it's an option, I just look at them with contempt and walk away. If I can't walk away, it depends on my mood. If I'm feeling mean I could call them out on being an insensitive as*hole, and then sarcastically tell them "so because you're soooo pure, nothing bad will ever happen to you right? Wait,...

So, like so many aspies, I now have a blog. I thought it might be nice to get some of my feelings out there in relative anonymity (as opposed to facebook). It's not just about being an aspie, but inevitably filtered through that lens. Theres only a few posts, but lets see how it goes. http://humanas...

However, if it a good idea to get tested for allergies. I found out that I was celiac (actually an autoimmune disor...

I think both NTs and aspies do this, as I have had a lot of people do that with me. I recognize that when I do it, it's because the person has triggered something subconcious in me: a person I didn't like who looks like them, a "type" that used to pick on me in high school, etc. I force myself to ge...

I'm always wearing my mp3 player so when I see them I make brief eye contact then pretend to be fiddling with my mp3 player then smile/nod/say hello when they are about 4 feet away. Keeps the interaction nice and brief.

This is why the teachers would yell at me for gettign bullied. It's easy to understand how atrociities are commited, people are just animals with the instinct to kill the weak of the herd whatever they percieve "weak" to be. I don't think it's even thought out conciously, more of just a instinctual ...

You sound very much like me at your age. You are coming accross as too eager likely, and that always throws people. You have to be a bit more low key and casual when you approach people. I had a lot of problems with people finding me too forward and avoiding me afterward. I'm still not sure of all t...

It's funny that I should read this post now, as I was just pondering that I never take people with me when I go out. I think most girls always bring a friend when they go shopping, but I find I am always worried that they are bored or am bored myslef when we are looking at stuff I'm not interested i...

I was a complete tomboy who wouldn't even comb her hair when I was a kid but in my late teens I got into clothes and makeup. Mostly because makeup is like doing my artwork on my face - I find it fun. I also greatly enjoy my crazy high heels and goth gear but I only wear it rarely when I go out.

I found out far too late in life that the most important thing is confidence. Walk with confidence, laugh openly, and be comfortable with yourself (or fake all this until you get there). Mind you, most everyone looks more confident than they are. Physical: a lot of guys like long hair, a little bit ...

Oh! Oh! I love your name Heliobacter! Oh, wait, that's the bacterium that causes ulcers. Oh.... I got excited about going to the meeting when I suddenly realized you were referring to the other Vancouver. Yes, I'm a total nerd. Although the correct spelling is Helicobacter, but I got it wrong the f...

Wow, thanks for posting this! I've always been frustrated with my inability to "get going" and avoidance of any action whatsoever even if it would make me happy. I have to force myself to leave the house. I will sometimes sleep-14-16 hours descending back into my dreams just because it's hard to get...

Oh dear, this reminds me very much of my brother (also an aspie). He is into neurochemistry and researches constantly on neuroreceptors, neurochemicals, and overall brain chemistry. He has experimented with everything under the sun to cure his problems and can give you a rationale that sounds really...
