Actually I have to take that back. While
it doesnt do outlines in Microsoft word,
it does however work with Open office writer.
Not a big fan of the way open office interface looks
but it does function in a way I can use it. |

I dislike the word cure myself too. Cure is something you do for Cancer, or diabetes, you want to get rid of it. I think applying the word cure to total AS [Autistic Spectrum] is the wrong word to use. I as a parent dont want to cure my children but help my children. Yes I agree there are a lot of p... |

My middle son loves cloths hangers and toilets. But I have used those strange fascinations. One day the thought hit me , why dont you use google images to teach your son. You can actually teach a lot with hangers more than I thought. You can teach how to count, what colors they are, what shapes they... |

One think that helps me a lot is to write a journal or blog. It does feel really good to get the frustration off your chest. Actually I think I saw a blog section even on this site. Or if you want something more private use Open office or Word and write out your thoughts. Or even the good old paper ... |

For a child I wouldn't get them an iphone I would get them a Itouch or a IPAD. I have seen Itouches for about 200 dollars or even lower.. But the one thing you might have to take into consideration is some schools ban cell phones and also devices like the Itouch. But in your case if the school is sm... |

I forget the program name that did it, think smart draw. but it worked better with microsoft office applications like word and visio. Also liked that it would render the mind map as an outline in word.. Made it really easy to write up documentation that way. But that program was 200 dollars and I co... |

You are right it might just be the individual. I am no scientist, I just study my middle son a lot that is non-verbal. And I wonder if problems people on the spectrum face with social settings is the inability to understand body language. Or even the ability to block out all the movement that there ... |
