Thanks Jeff. Yes, it's the local tech college. Can I ask if you had other stuff going on, like a job or anything else? Aside from 4 hours of volunteer work, she has no other obligations. She's not involved with any sort of group or activity, has no local/real life friends, no job. It was frustrating...

I dealt with a similar situation. On the specific schools campus there should be some sort of Resources for Disabled Students department. There should be someone who is there that will help you with whatever you need, typically all you would need is a school ID and documentation. Hope I helped. Tha...

Hi--I'm new here this week after being away from any sort of formal autism/Asperger community for almost a decade. My daughter is 19 and has Asperger's & ADD. My daughter got through high school with no official accommodation--just a flimsy 504 that only dealt with sensory overload. Her transiti...

So, where is the best place for me to jump in to a discussion? Is there an active thread for parents of college-aged Aspies? (That's what my daughter calls herself. I was rather taken with the term "Aspergian" when I found it a couple years ago. I should also disclose that, while not on the visible ...

Do you sense a theme? I became aware of Wrong Planet several years ago when my daughter was younger and I was learning about Asperger's, but I am pretty sure I didn't participate in forums then. I did belong to a small community of moms of AS girls, but lost touch years ago, and we sort of found our...
