I read the book. I like that she's putting autism in the public, but I'm not sure that people are understanding. I, too, disagree with the fact that her son is "cured." Also, she does believe that the shots caused his autism, when he had symptoms before the shots. Personally, I tend to lean toward h...

That's so funny. I cut my son's hair at home, too. He used to scream the whole way through, and I could only use scissors. Now he just screams a little, and I can use the clippers (he's almost seven).

My son (Asperger's) cries and yells that something's happened, but he won't come to me. If I ask, he won't even come to me without a fight. I think he's terrified that I'll do something like clean it (a scrape) or something.

My son's obsession is Thomas the Train. Nothing else - he reads and studies the inserts to the packages more than he actually plays with them, but we have thousands of dollars of Thomas (movies, books, toys -wooden, electric, take-alongs, clothes, etc.). He's six, and he's loved Thomas since he was ...

I choose not to have my child formally diagnosed until he absolutely must be. He just started kindergarten, and I know that he has Asperger's. He realizes that he is different, also. He has all of the characteristics. However, I do not want a label to follow him throughout his entire school carreer ...
