Instead of deleting your profile you should delete the friends that criticize your profile, they are not the boss of you. You get to decide what you post on your profile, not them :) Ha ha I like that. I'm leaving it off for now but when I reactivate a big clear out is definitely in order. I've got... |

I'm someone who avoids a lot of day to day social contact, yet posts on FB (Facebook) several times everyday. I find it easier for lots of reasons. This week some "friends" have been making fun of the things I post. It's not the first time I've been criticised for posting personal things o... |

You know what? I think I realise what my real problem is. Two people I thought were my best friends basically just chose another friend, the girl who hates me for no real reason, over me. They've known me longer, but basically they're saying this other girl is 'better' than me. I guess that's what y... |

No I don't, I think I'm seen as someone you could ask for help, but I don't normally do things for her. We just hang out on and off - it's not one of those friendships where one of us buys the other loads of drinks. I know what you're saying, I've had friends before where I've felt like I have to be... |

I give up trying to make new friends. If I'm supposed to be the one lacking empathy, how come it's everyone else who uses me and screws me over?! |

If you're one of those who has major trouble empathising and just states the facts, please don't read this or post a reply. Everyone here has some degree of autism but certain people can be unsympathetic (and hurtful) because of their lack of empathy and that's the last thing I need right now. I've ... |

Sad for those who have been through this, but glad you posted so I know its not just me. In the end posting here helped me to keep quiet long enough to accept it, cope, and think of a way to deal with it. I've lied, and after convincing one person, I was confident to tell a few more people quite eas... |

After years of not working due to my child not getting on in childcare (asd and adhd), I got accepted as a stand-in classroom support at a special school. After only a couple of weeks they told the agency they don't want me anymore. They said I was great with the kids but lacked classroom experience... |

I actually think "ah, men suck" is fine in this context - as a standalone statement it will be understood as slightly flippant, rather than a literal statement that all men really are lousy. If it was followed by a serious, impassioned rant about how horrible men are, then it might be inappropriate... |

I feel some of these replies are very ASD, whereas what a lot of us need to know are the more subtle NT signs. Yes when we cut friendships, we do stop replying to texts. It's black and white for us. But when NTs want to cut friendships I find they often opt for the 'phase out plan'. They DO still re... |

I've recently started a friendship with someone due to our children playing together. She's invited me out tomorrow night and I'm nervous. I do go out regularly, I'm a very HF Aspie, but I'm also prone to getting too personal. I often make intense friendships that blow out because I get too genuinel... |

Thanks for all the replies, I have read them all. I won't reply in too much detail or this post will turn into a novel. I will have a think about what's been said and see if I can use any of the advice to improve things. I do already try to look very NT with my clothes and make up, and my son's beha... |
