Hi Ryan, My nephew, also 23 (NT), was feeling pretty bad & rejected last year, so he crashed his car into a lake in Texas, and he admits that it was on purpose. He was badly hurt, but lived, and he now looks back on it and he sees only now, that he had some other ways to handle how he felt. He's... |

It's been awhile since I've posted here, and I want to get some input from anyone who saw the movie, "The Accountant". My wife and I saw it tonight, and although the main character seems plausible in some ways as with high functioning autism, I don't think any of us would be able to lead t... |

I don't have much concern one way or the other about Halloween. Living on a farm, we don't have trick-or-treating, and I don't decorate or anything. Usually my wife and I will put some kind of costumes on, and go to dinner, but that's about it. I guess it's fun to put on what would otherwise be inap... |

I despise any kind of touch, tickle, or attempted hugs from most everyone, but I have to tolerate them in order to be polite. Hand shaking is less bad, as the other person isn't so badly into my "space" to shake hands, as they would be for hugs. For closer friends and family, I have a good understan... |

I just throw them out when they quit working, or if one breaks, I just sweep it up and throw the debris in the trash. The whole recycle thing is less about the environment and more about money and taxes.

I think I've posted this before in other threads, but in my view, the BMI scale is a joke, and is made up of false parameters and it ignores too many variables. Case in point: I am "obese" at 5' 11" and 195 lbs. But my actual body fat percentage is 5.7, which is "better than ideal" for a 19-year-old... |

My biggest dislike, is saggy pants (guys or girls). I never did that, even when it was popular among the mainstream in the 90s. My second dislike is probably severely out-of-shape women wearing very tight and revealing clothes. That's a major turn-off, and if I were still interested in dating, I'd d... |

Twice a day, and sometimes 3 times a day in hot weather or if I've done a dirty project. I'm a clean-freak, and I can't do anything to start a day until I've had a shower. In fact, I have only failed to have a shower ONCE in my adult life, and that was on Tuesday, January 18, 1994 (the day after the... |

I have always more than one "collection", and have never really lost interest in any of them. I started collecting early-model TV sets when I was 10 years old, and have had as many as 400 of them at any one time. These are TV sets made from the 1940s to 60s mainly, and also a sub-collection is that ... |

I know this is probably going to sound strange, but if I am expecting being touched, lets say if my girlfriend and I are about to become amorous, then I actually enjoy being touched. Another example would be my mother giving me a hug etc, then I do like that kind of affection of touch. However if l... |

Hugging to me, is the epitome of awkwardness and torment, and one can leave me shuddering and nervous. And it's SO UNNECESSARY!! !! I'd much rather have a friend or relative tell me in plain English, that they care, or they feel that I am close to them emotionally, or whatever a hug is supposed to c... |

I really appreciate all this input  . It seems that the way it works for others, is similar to how I tried to describe it; the "physical pain" is only an alarm, and the response from the brain is a separate thing... But it's not 100% consistent, in that some types of pain (headaches, tooth pro... |
